Draft at Coalhouse pizza. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Lots of bourbon on the nose and tongue with smaller roasted malt notes. Hides it's booze well. Solid but not as bold or impactful as I was hoping for.

Savannah, Ga - on tap at the Savannah Craft Brew Fest. Pours a very deep dark brown/black. Thick mocha colored head with nice lacing. Aroma has a hint of smooth bourbon, some licorice and chocolate. Bold flavor with some licorice accents, a touch of bourbon, hints of bittersweet baker’s chocolate, a dose of espresso in the finish, no soy sauce. Nice, rich thick rich mouthfeel.

Rich dark chocolate and a touch of vannilin. Big bodied. Aroma of oak and alcohol. This is a big beer that’s put together with skill.

Shared bottle. Poured turbid and dark blackish with clingy, light brown head. Nose was dark malt, oak, bourbon, black licorice, vanilla. Rich flavor, not super dense, a tad hot, with dark malt, oak, bourbon, anise, vanilla in the flavor.

750ml corked bottle. Rich chocolate aroma with notes of vanilla, bourbon, coffee and oak. Pours black with a very thin light brown head that has no retention or lacing. Starts with sweet chocolate flavors with a little bit of coffee as well as a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with excellent bourbon, vanilla and oak flavors with a hint of warming booze. Excellent!

Flat 750 ml bottle from Lost Abbey? (flat like some of Tommy’s beers of yore) but actually from Tavour. Black with a tiny partial layer of tan bubbles. Nose is chocolate, very light vanilla, tobacco, and bourbon. Flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of bourbon and a mild alcohol warmth. Decent and drinkable.
