Pours a light amber color with a white head. Citrus hops right away on the aroma with some caramel malts, and some grapefruit. Flavor is loaded with grapefruit. Alcohol is covered up pretty well. Plenty of hop flavor but not overbearing. Nice blend but still strong with citrus. aracauna (3637) - Georgia, USA - DEC 5, 2010
The first pour is crystal clear dark amber. The second pour is hazy, so there’s a little sediment. No complaints there. I know their IPA is better unfiltered. There’s a nice hop aroma. Nice mix of apricot and grapefruit. The malt is a little underwhelming. Slight candied quality to the finish. The bitterness is enough to make up a bit, but it lacks a little depth in the flavor. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2010
Caramel orange, big off white foam. Loopy lacing. Aroma is some woody citrus, potpourri, caramel. Taste is dirty oranges, woody, earthy, sweet caramel backbone. MartinT (10014) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 1, 2010
My Bottom Line:brianprentiss (704) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 1, 2010
Piney, citrusy and grassy hops provide a juicy flavor profile for this Double IPA, before polite bitterness approaches.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam covers the misty light amber.
-The prickly carbonation remains low key throughout.
-Malts don’t offer much in the way of flavor, building a slender body in the process.
-Light alcohol warmth is felt.
-There is not much complexity here, nor is there much hop vivacity, for the style anyway. This is still a fun Double IPA, just not a top notch example in a country where there are plenty of such top notch examples.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of thirdeye11) Pours a clear copper body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of weed, pineapple, mango, papaya, and grass. Flavor of light pine, grass, pineapple, caramel malt, and mango. coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - NOV 29, 2010
Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a nice off white head. Aroma is grapefruit, mustiness, and some sweet malt. Flavor is very earthy. Big, sweet malt backbone with a touch of honey.. Hops are mostly citrus/grapefruit. Thick, oily palate. Fred82 (2331) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 28, 2010

Appearance : Clear light amber with a small head.
Aroma : Great complexity. Nice fruits and fresh hops. Light honey. a bit grassy.
Taste : Fruits and fresh hops. Leafy and a bit resinous. Finish is a bit sticky and leafy.
Overall : Rather dry and easy drinking. Nice honey on the finish. Well balanced. Maybe a bit too sticky on the palate.
Similar to their regular IPA, but stronger. A decent amount of grapefruit hop flavor with some sweet earthy malts. Not bitter at all. Medium bodied and full flavored. On the sweet side for a DIPA. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Orangish pour with a big resinous aroma. Citrus,, caramel, and light pine. Finish is a little astringent and dry
