Comes out of the tap a warm, opaque chocolate brown with a thick pale tan head. Strong, evergreen aroma has a citrus undertone. Mouth-filling pine tree flavor is a little bitter and a little sweet, and has a grapefruit undertone and a woody hint. Lively, tingly texture leaves a strong, fizzy and evergreen finish. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 13, 2011
on tap at Taco Mac Cumming on 7/8/11. brown pour with a 1/4" off white head. lovely nose with layers of coffee, chocolate and citrus hops. big roasted body that blends big time IBUs with coffee and chocolate malts. slightly creamy. big roasted finish with more citrus hops covered in coffee and chocolate. I wish they bottled this one. elgiacomo (747) - Ringgold/Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, USA - JUL 25, 2011

Pours clear brown with red highlights and a nice light beige head that leaves good spotty lacing and recedes to a wispy cap.
Aroma is a huge blast of pine, spruce, and some dank marijuana. Damn. Very potent. There is also some citrus, toast, nuts & caramel present. Excellent strength.
Flavor is pine, spruce, resinous hops, some citrus, good sweet malt backbone featuring caramel, toffee, toast & nuts, finishes with good bitterness. A bit of alcohol on the finish but not bad at all for an 8.5% brew.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation.
Man this is some good stuff and one of the hoppiest Black/Brown IPAs I’ve ever had. The aroma is just insane!
Draught. Dark brown pour with a small beige head. Aroma was spot on for the style. Full of big time juicy citrusy hops mixed with a light roastiness and some coffee. I could have smelled for days. Flavors didn’t disappoint. Big bright hoppy citrus up front followed by a rather large coffee like bitterness, some roasty malt mixed in there too. Mouthfeel was nice and creamy, carbonation light. This rivals all of the other dark hoppy ales out there. If only they would have bottled it! unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Tap @ TacoMac, johns creek. Dark brown pour, white head. Lots of lace. Aroma of toasted malt and fruit. Taste of fruity esters and C-note hops. Finishes with a nice American IPA bitterness.

Draft @ Taco Mac, Canton GA. Dark brown with creamy white head. Good lacing. Strong citrus hop aroma, very pleasant. Caramel and roasted malts balanced well with a big hop punch. Fruity. Creamy, rich mouthfeel. Hoppy bitter finish. Well done. Ohio State sucks. Westmeister (2127) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 10, 2011
Draft. Pours a dark mocha black with an off white head and perfect lacing. Smell is a big Burst of citrus/grapefruit hops and a nice malt backing. Toasted caramel initially and then the big punch of some piney hops. Very nice brew and this is helping me really get into the black ipas. Suttree (6537) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 15, 2011
On tap at Jack of the Wood, Asheville. Reddish Brown, with a thin ring of foam. Smells more IPA-ish than anything, perhaps a touch of molasses, and brown sugar. Flavor is very hop forward, with a sweet-ish, earthy finish. tron3000atl (72) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Had some yesterday at the brewery for ipa day. Tasted like I was eating a fresh hop. Was pretty awesome aracauna (3707) - Georgia, USA - JUL 2, 2011
This on is surprisingly fruity. In fact, with the sweetness and fruit, I’d say the fruit was dominant over the hops.
