Pours deep reddish brown with a nice off-white head. Aroma is heavy on the citrus and grapefruit notes, with lots of pine resin also. Tastes bitter and resinous with a similar profile as the aroma, but lots of spicy notes and caramel and bready flavors, too. Full-bodied. Nicely balanced with a bitter but not dry finish. Very good. illinismitty (2271) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 4, 2011
Bottle from Midtown for $12.99! Ouch. Pours copper brown with a nice light tan head, webby lacing. Aroma of chocolatly malts and hops. Medium bodied with semi soft carbonation and an earthy mouthfeel. Malt backbone gives of flavors of light chocolate and caramel with a hint of nuttiness. This is countered by a moderate citrus and pine bitterness. Reminds me somewhat of stone strong ales, but with a better mouthfeel. However, this was not worth the price tag, Maybe worth half of what I paid at best. What was I thinking? emacgee (4704) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Pours copper amber with two fingers of offwhite head. Nose is super hoppy and green, lightly resinous and kind of heavy on the spicy notes. Some buiscuty and toasted notes. Lightly citrusy with a hint of sweetness. Biscuity malt and spicy zesty hop balance up front. Dry with a light citrus rind character. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 3, 2011

22 ounce bottle that poured a deep dark amber red pour, with aromas of citrus, grapefruit, pine and some caramel. Taste is the same as aroma with a biscuity feel with some molasses.

Tastes at a local tasting. Best of ’the bunch’. Lots of hops and well balanced between hops and malt. drowland (8938) - Georgia, USA - NOV 30, 2011
11/30/11. On tap. Dark red pour with a small khaki head. Very hoppy aroma, very compact and intense, but not all that complex, with a bit of citrus and leafy green aspects. Slightly sweet, malty flavor at first with chocolate and a bit of caramel as well, followed by lingering hops that are concentrated and slightly sour. Not bad, not great. Just tried a small sample @ proof. Citrus and caramel hop aroma. Big resiny earthy finish that lasts. Tinny vibe. Need to try again. Good tho. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 29, 2011
shared bomber on 11/22/11. deep ruby pour with a 1 finger off white head. sweet citrus hop nose with caramel malts and light spice. medium body with sweet caramel, spicy bitterness and orange notes. smooth, spicy, bitter finish that lasts a good bit. jrob21 (3772) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 28, 2011
Bomber. Pours a deep red with a long lasting frothy tan head. Flavor is slightly caramel sweet malt followed with a resiny pine hop finish. Aroma is slight citrus and grapefruit. Was expecting a much bigger c-hop presence on par with a lot of other offerings from these guys and in conjunction with the moniker but that does not materialize. Not a bad drink but to tout a hop bomb and deliver what it does is a little bit of a surprise. Good body and full mouth feel.
