3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I’m always excited to get my hands on the latest installment of Sweet Water’s Dank Tank series. I’ve landed some pretty awesome brews from it in the past. Here is goes.
Pours a deep reddish brown with a thin frothy white head. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is slightly bitter, citrus rind, floral notes, brown sugar, and a hint of alcohol. Taste feels a little empty on the front then a wave of citrus, hops, and spices hits you, before fading away in a faint malty sweetness. Finish is rather clean, and the mouthfeel is smooth if not a bit on the thin side.
Overall this is a decent beer, and the progression of flavor you get from it is unique. Unfortunately I feel like it’s a bit on the forgettable side, as it really lacks any sort of "wow" factor.
With Z , pour a dark mahogany pour with an ephemeral Java head. Nose is sweet confluence of hops and malt . Taste is sweet caramel, malt and hops with a moderately long pleasant finish . Nice ! Quaff Score 7 / 10 zgaier (1962) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2016
Bomber. Pours a muddy brown with a tan head and aroma of hops and caramel. Taste is malty, with caramel notes as well as hops and citrus into the finish. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2016
Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe coffee. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy as hell. jandd1983 (4444) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JUN 4, 2015
Bottle. It poured a dark copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of hops and malts. The taste was similar to the aroma with more hops and malts. It had a medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Nice. slowrunner77 (12460) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 5, 2014
"Darkish brick red color. Hop heavy, but with plenty of malt to back it up. Earthy. lightly floral and piney, caramel and a hint of sweetness and roast to offset the bitter. Pretty nice, and easy at 8+%."

Mahogany brew w/ tan head, good lacing & head retention. Bready, smoky malt & floral aromas. Sweet maltiness at start, ending hoppy & spicy. smith4498 (3650) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Pours brown color with tan head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, caramel and some earthiness. Similar flavors with moderate bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. bytemesis (8792) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUN 24, 2014
Bottle. Pours crystal clear ruby red, medium creamy tan head that dissipates slowly leaving nice lacing. Aroma is caramel and pine. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, caramel and pine. Not bad, but past its prime. alexsdad06 (10586) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAY 25, 2014
22 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel and toffee malt, grapefruit citrus, earthy hops with a mild spicy character. Not the biggest imperial amber going. Rated on notes from a tasting on 26 Dec 2013 -- Had on tap back home, Fort Walton Bch, FL. A nice red, nothing remarkable. Well, maybe the way you could drink several without realizing the potency.
