Pours very dark with a small head. Lots of roasting in the nose of this one that also comes through in the taste. Quite a bit of maltiness, too. JDiddle77 (12) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 2, 2005
My overall favorite beer, the Exodus Porter is a great brew for even the serious beer drinker. It’s a full bodied beer that has the perfect balance of sweet and bitter. The strong palate is soothed away by the hint of chocolate malt in the aftertaste. If you like dark beer, this is what you’ve been looking for. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - JUN 18, 2012
Pours dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Smells chocolaty. Taste is chocolate with hints of cocoa bitterness. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Sweetwater Exodus Porter finishes with a touch of dark chocolate bitterness. hopheadsbrew (142) - Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2013
Chocolate aroma. Creamy head. Dark mahogony color. Chocolate licorice and roasty flavor. Medium body. Lasting flavor with a clean finish. GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - MAY 8, 2014
Rated from notes taken at the brewery -- Shared this fresh off the brite tank with Will the brewer! Great porter, would love to drink this year-round.

Man this was tasty! Opaque color with a subtle hop bitterness. Thick and chewy (medium body my ass!) with flavors of bitter chocolate and prunes. Awefrickinsome!!! cfl8104 (3) - - APR 15, 2012 does not count
Excellent beer. light coffee flavor, slight smokiness, smooth finish with a bit of sweetness on the back end JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 12, 2006
Wow! What a great porter! Pleasing notes of bitter chocolate and light roast on the nose. Deep ruby in color with small, quickly disappearing head. Medium body with a nice velvety mouthfeel. Cocoa puffs and bold hops envelop the tongue. A terrific drinker. Thanks to JRob-21. Cybercat (5878) - Georgia, USA - FEB 23, 2012
This is one of my favorite offerings from Sweetwater. Praise Ninkasi that it is available again! It pours a deep, rich, dark-chocolate brown with a thick, light tan head. Smoky aroma has unsweet chocolate, coffee and molasses notes plus a hint of miso. Flavor has a roast coffee core plus chocolate, nutty and molasses notes and a hint of caramel. Smooth, firm texture has plenty of fizz and leaves a nice tingly mocha finish. finn1918 (234) - Georgia, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Pours a deep ruby with a 1-finger light khaki head that disappears after a couple minutes and doesn’t leave much lacing. Good carbonation. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, and spices. Taste follows suit with plenty of chocolate/caramel sweetness and a very mild hop finish. Very sweet for its style. Body is big enough to let you know it’s there, but thin enough to remind you that you aren’t drinking a stout, which makes for easy drinking. Very good, but not mind-blowing. Good for a Friday night relaxer or for a porter/stout newbie.
