Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Clear deep amber - red beer, decent pale cream cour head. Palate is airy and light, superfine carbonation. Airy malt, very light cream. Mild dark toffee streak. Spice kicks in, not too hot. Touch of dried fruits. Okay.

Extra cheers to Kimchee for sharing this one! Dark burgundy-brown colour. Smokey nose with brown sugar and a slight cherry note. Lightish body is perilous. Smoke, spices, molasses...but silky and balanced. A different breed, but I liked it a lot.

Bottle @ home. Thanks, Pat. Dark brown pour with a thin khaki head. Nose is caramel, mild roast, and toasted grains. Slight cocoa and mushroom. A little bit of cinnamon and spice. Flavor is on the sweet side. A lot of caramel, cinnamon, and peppery spice. A bunch of toasted grain. Just a mediocre whatever beer.

Growler - Vintage 2012 - Dark malts with a bit of cinnamon in the finish and some sourness. Cloudy brown with a beige head. A little roast, some spice and a bit of sourness. This didn’t age well.
