This is one of my favorite beers ever. Great beer to have around for the cool weather. I stockpile this like no other beer since it has limited availability.

Great winter brew! Good body and head to it. Liter bottles go fast. Start looking in October for it and grab it when you can find it. Worth buying a few when you can get them.

The Festive Ale is amazing. It’s Sweetwater’s high gravity Christmas brew. This is an absolute must try for any serious beer drinker.

Every time i drink this i think of the same thing.... Liquified Christmas Cookies! Take all the different types of cookies you can get during the holidays and throw them all in a blender! Sweetwater Festive Ale! 12oz bottle - 6pack from Publix Grocery store - Pours a minimal light brown, tan head almost looks like the froth of hot chocolate, that dissapates quikly, dark ruby red/mahogony color. Smells like a German dopple bock...Taste like chocolate, molassas, ginger, dark roasted black coffee, figs. Mouth feel is sticky sweet, the alcohol is very well disguised for a 8.6% Get some when you can it wont be around long!!

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Pleasant roasted, spicy scent. Deep chocolate brown color with tan head. Good mouth feel. Dense but not too thick. Flavor matches scent. Robust spicy roasted malt flavor. Delicious. Wish this wasn?t such a limited release. Great winter holiday brew.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2013 2002- I saved this one for my 200th rating and was not disappointed. Pours nice and dark with a lasting head. Flavor is malty with a hint of spiciness. The flavors intensify as the beer warms. Finishes nice and smooth. 2004-Another great Sweetwater beer. 2003 vintage (12/21/2013): Saved this one for 10 years. Pours an almost opaque mahogany red with no head. Minimal carbonation. Aroma of fruit and herbs. Flavor is smooth and fruity (raisins). Finish is light and slightly herbal.

I like to think of this beer in the same context as I do Boulevard Brewery’s "Bob’s ’47", as it’s a delicious brew that begins a little on the thick side, but before you know it, your pint glass is empty and you’re feeling pretty good, pretty fast ;)
