Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.Ungstrup (39079) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2007
[ Trade by GAManiac ]. Clear medium to dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, licorice, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration, english licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily and creamy, carbonation is soft.
Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is also sweet with strong notes of coffee and chocolate, but also with a slight acidity from the hard roasted malt and the coffee note, and hints of cocoa beans, leading to a dry roasted finish. anders37 (27892) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 14, 2011

Seasonal offering at the Atlanta airport location. A pretty good sweet stout that falls somewhat short of it’s imperial moniker. Not bad though. cgarvieuk (26604) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 3, 2009
Bottle at DLD ... deep red black ... sweet roast malts some toffee nose ...big hop front ... big solid roast ...little spice ... bit too heavy hopped for me.

A little fruitiness and even a slightly perfumy touch. Malt bitter finish with also some alcohol showing. 171107 Leighton (23090) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2015
Bottle shared during the Cad’s 10th anniversary bash - Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Cloin. Pours rich black with a foamy mocha topping. The nose holds dried dark frutis and burnt grains. Medium sweet flavor with lightly tangy dark fruits, licorice, pine, dark bread and cocoa. Full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly warming to finish with more dark fruit, burnt marshmallow, chocolate, scorched earth bitterness. Nice impy stout. Black color. Quite intense aroma. Good body, good caramel-roasted malt mix, balanced, just the final is a bit thin. Not bad. mcberko (20253) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 28, 2016
Bottle best by 2013 (thanks Brews for New Avenues). 12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma is oxidized, with toasted malt and light cocoa. Flavour is oxidized, with cocoa and light roast. Would’ve loved to see what this was like fresh. As is, not good.
