3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a 12 oz bottle in Hilton Head SC. Pours a clear light amber with a thick frothy white head. Grassy hop aroma. Pretty muted flavors, dominated by hop bitterness.
Bland rye ale, neither dipping enough into IPA or rye beer territory, instead insisting on a biscuity malt heaviness that cancels out any IPA fury. A good IPA for your mother-in-law, I guess. JStax (6509) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2016
Draft sample. The beer is a clear copper color with a white head of foam. Decent head retention. The aroma has dry grass and resinous pine notes. Spice hits you up front in the taste, then big bitterness and a dry herbal character. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quick3Beers (1235) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 26, 2016
Pours a murky brownish from a bottle, citrus and pine smell and flavor along with a bit of sour breadiness. Okay beer. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2016
Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy with a nice dry finish. djd07 (14564) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2015
On tap at The Wine Bar Destin. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong fruity malt, rye, citrus. Thin mouth, caramel, rye, toffee, grass, light bitterness, very good.

Draft at Sneakers in Jax beach The ale poured a clear light amber with an off white head and lacing. Citrus aroma greets you with some grainy malts. The medium body ale had average carbonation. The hop bitterness dominates the taste. The finish was a mouthful of grapefruit as well. I think the style is incorrect, I was told it is a D/IPA. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - SEP 20, 2014

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden-copper color with a one finger billowy white head. The head fades slowly overtime leaving patches of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the sweeter overall with notes of tropical fruits as well as a bit of caramel. Along with these smells so too comes a little bit of a rye bread aroma and some hoppy smells of a pine and grapefruit nature.
Taste – The taste begins with some rye flavors upfront that are matched by a bit of pine. While the taste starts out slightly drier with only a lighter flavor of tropical fruits it grows stronger in these tastes as well as getting a caramel sweetness to accompany the sweeter fruit at the end. While the sweet gets stronger as the taste moves on, so too does the hop with more pine and grapefruit coming to the tongue. Some peppery flavors and a bit of a floral flavor work their way into the taste throughout, with the combination of flavors leaving a rather nicely balanced flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly creamier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The combination is rather nice for highlighting the lighter rye and spice flavor, all while keeping it very easy drinking.
Overall – This was a rather enjoyable brew overall and one I will certainly go to again. Ratman197 (14852) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 10, 2014
Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a lasting white head. aromas of rye, spice, earthiness, light pine and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, earthiness, light grapefruit and a hint of pine with a smooth dry lightly bitter lingering rye finish. jgb9348 (6279) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 28, 2014
Rich hazy copper and amber coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of rye (naturally), bright floral hops, alcohol, grain and cleanser - strong and pungent throughout. Medium-bodied; Strong rye and grain flavour at first with a good floral, citrus and piney hop note and a solid light honey sweetness near the end. Aftertaste shows the mellow sugars at first but then fades into the more ’natural’ floral hoppiness and of course the grain and rye. Overall, a nice rye-based IPA with a very balanced note and still some nice complexity throughout - great to sample if you like rye-based beers or IPAs with more of a deeper malt profile. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Corner Store (Bait & Tackle) in West Palm Beach, Florida on 30-December-2013 for US$2,39 sampled at home in Washington on 28-August-2014. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 1, 2014
12oz bottle. pours a semi cloudy orange color with white head. the aroma is malt based with mild hop and definite rye. the flavor was damn good. very nice blend malt backbone with the spiciness of the rye and the bitterness of the hops. almost a floral hops presence. medium bitterness from start to finish. really like this one.
