Had after a Sweetwater IPA to compare the two. Pours a dark clear amber/orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is rye and some hops: citrus, mild grapefruit, and some pine. Taste is similar, with a more pronounced rye character and less hops. Finish is less bitter and less sweet overall. This is the first rye IPA I’ve had, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. Good, but not as good as the IPA. Still not sure how two IPA’s belong in a winter variety pack.

12oz bottle. Pours a bright melon orange with a thin layer of white frothy cream. Nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is beautiful resiny west coast hops. Flavors are well blended - grassy rye flavors mix with the bright hop notes. I do enjoy rye IPAs and this one highlight the exact reasons why. They were made to go together. Very nice.

Bottle from tackle box. Pours bright golden copper with small white head. Smells of rye, grass, hops, and caramel. Taste follows aroma with a earthy hop bite most pungeant in the finish. A little thin with medium carbonation. Sexy brew.

Delicious rye beer, and I’m not very experienced in this style. Good citrusy aroma, nice golden color with slight but frothy head. At first tasteI was afraid that it was too weak, but the rye comes through as you keep drinking.

Comes out of the tap a beautiful golden amber - head was thin, but this is apparently an artifact of the pour. Folks at Taco Mac like to make sure you get your money’s worth. Hoppy aroma is not strong, but still invites a taste with its fruity and rye tones. Flavor is better than what the aroma promises - strong, hoppy, with rye and citrus undertones, the latter a mixture of grapefruit and Mandarin orange. Firm texture has good fizz and sass. Rye-d with this one!

On draft at Tin Roof. Color is a nice clear golden, looks much like 420 and Sweetwater’s IPA. And the flavor has a lot similar to those beers, but with a dry rye kick. Overall very good, a nicely balanced IPA, made different with the rye.

Straight from the cooler in bottle. Rye makes nice presence in the beer, without being overbearing. Can smell citrus from mouth of bottle. Nice campsite beer.

I love rye beers. This is a rye beer. It stands to reason that would, in turn, love this beer. Nicely hoppy, crisp, dry finish. Very tasty...
