12oz bottle. pours a semi cloudy orange color with white head. the aroma is malt based with mild hop and definite rye. the flavor was damn good. very nice blend malt backbone with the spiciness of the rye and the bitterness of the hops. almost a floral hops presence. medium bitterness from start to finish. really like this one. Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden-copper color with a one finger billowy white head. The head fades slowly overtime leaving patches of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the sweeter overall with notes of tropical fruits as well as a bit of caramel. Along with these smells so too comes a little bit of a rye bread aroma and some hoppy smells of a pine and grapefruit nature.
Taste – The taste begins with some rye flavors upfront that are matched by a bit of pine. While the taste starts out slightly drier with only a lighter flavor of tropical fruits it grows stronger in these tastes as well as getting a caramel sweetness to accompany the sweeter fruit at the end. While the sweet gets stronger as the taste moves on, so too does the hop with more pine and grapefruit coming to the tongue. Some peppery flavors and a bit of a floral flavor work their way into the taste throughout, with the combination of flavors leaving a rather nicely balanced flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly creamier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The combination is rather nice for highlighting the lighter rye and spice flavor, all while keeping it very easy drinking.
Overall – This was a rather enjoyable brew overall and one I will certainly go to again. Westmeister (2127) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 16, 2012
Draft from Taco Mac Cumming. Pours a clear golden color with medium white head and decent lacing. Smell is light citrus, but does not bring the expected big rye spiciness that I would expect from a rye brew. Which in my opinion is not a horrible thing. There is also a pleasant sweet malt aspect. Taste is again mild citrus with just a hint of the rye edginess, but really comes out as a clean crisp and refreshing brew. The rye doesn’t really shine, but this turns out to make it a really nice summer drinker. Quite different from its Georgia breathren at Terrapin. pnesbit (111) - Marietta, South Carolina, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Bottle pour of a gold copper with a nice off white head that leaves a little lace. Aroma of forward grapefruit hops some lemon zest and rye spice. Taste of more hops and a big rye spice and slight caramel malt with a alight citrus finish. Med body with a nice spicy finish with a Slight citrus. Over all well balanced beer with a great spin on the normal ipa with rye spice.

Bottle - courtesy of GandGKevin. Thanks! Murky amber pour with a medium, foamy white head. Aroma is spicy hops, citrus fruit, floral hops and light caramel. Taste is big spicy hops, rye, light caramel, sweet malt, floral hops, citrus fruit, tropical fruit and light earthy hops. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more spicy hops, citrus fruit, dried tropical fruit, caramel, sweet malt, and floral hops. Nice! DukeBrewDevil (732) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Bottle. Golden color with a big soapy white head. Nose is juicy hops and wet grass. I don’t get any rye in the flavor, just lots of nice sweet, floral hops. Those hops continue into the finish, which then mixes in some peppery bitterness, and only a faint hint of rye late in the finish. It feels overly flat in the mouth. Otherwise, a nice IPA. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2012
Bottle courtesy Suttree. Citrus / floral hops, mango, and light caramel aroma. Hazy honey gold with a large off-white head. Citrus/floral hops, mango, light rye spice, sweet malt flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Very nice. MmmcKay (1053) - Brentwood, Tennessee, USA - DEC 10, 2012
Nice spicy dark rye iPa. Very dry. Perhaps could use a dash of sweetness to balance the dry spicy rye which is very prevalent. But I’m not complaining nice full bodied iPa that isn’t too heavy. Good damn beer. phaleslu (10890) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Draft at Hopjacks Filling Station in Pensacola. Pours a clear gold with a small, barely off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, floral notes, sweet malts, faint grass, rye, and slight tropical fruits. Flavor of citrus juice, sweet malts, floral notes, rye, pine, and pineapple. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a juicy mouthfeel. Mild rye element. Nice beer.
