Road trips are balls-out adventures loaded with unexpected twists, just like when this beer hit black ice and got spun!. It started out as an IPA recipe, but halfway down the road it blew a tire and a Pilsner yeast was pitched as a spare; an IPP yo! The fiery Pilsner backbone adds a nitrous-like boost to the van load of hops that would make any German pucker up when those hop afterburners singe their lederhosen!

Brewed with a Lager yeast at Ale temps using Sterling hops and Pilsner Malt to make this a crisp and hoppy twisted up seasonal treat.

Light golden orange color with white head. This has a light aroma with pale malt and slight hops. Simple and easy beer to drink.

Golden orange color with hardly any head. Smells of malt, spice and citrus. Taste is spicy hops and citrus, with a lingering after taste of of a crisp spice. I am not as impressed with this as I thought I would be. Still better than Heineken, but not something I would put on my list of good brews

Hazy orange with a white head. Not much on the aroma, a little grain and slightly yeasty funky smell. Palate has some more of a phenolic yeast note along with cereal grain and a slight citrus flavor.

12oz bottle pours a clear golden yellow color with white head. aroma malty touch of spice and hops. the flavor a little different than what I expected it to be. medium malt backbone. with that pils flavor in the middle and then on the end flavorful hoppiness almost finished dry. not sure what you want to call this but its not bad..has more pils flavor than anything else.

12 ounce bottle
Thanks to a generous Florida trader for a chance to reacquaint myself with a Southern gem. This light summer drinker did not stand out much but it still proves that all golden / blond ales can be more than a method for distributing alcohol.

Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy mandarin orange base shimmers with active carbonation under a sheltered white head. Lemon crisp, wheat, and dry notes with a dash of yeast add character that makes it a bit unique. Ripening bananas feel just a bit out of place however.

Flavor / Palate - Lemon, yeast, and dry notes are the first impression from a fluid refreshing mouthfeel that washes across the tongue. The bitter transition tastes a bit like oaky champagne before morphing into a wheaty finish that sits in the throat. A decent wit beer has only one troublesome aspect - the spiciness feels a bit too amped up compared to other flavors. Even so it is worth trying once.

Bottle, aroma is light pale malts and noble hop. Taste is pale malt, bitter pine and dry finish, slightly harsh

Pours lightly hazy golden orange with a large white head. Smells grainy, earthy, hints of bitterness. Taste is bitter, grainy, earthy, hints of subtle fruit. Light-bodied with a smooth texture and prickly mouth-carbonation, Sweetwater Road Trip finishes with a kiss of sweetness.

12oz bottle, from Homer321. Best by 7/01/14. Mostly hazy golden orange color. Good off-white head with good retention. Leaves nice, thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. More dry finish. Nice light peppery pilsner malt type aromas. Some light citrus, moderate breadiness. Good moderate bitter, light sweet taste. Tasty, satisfying complex and flavorful golden ale. Great spicy herbal hop on it.

Pour hazy yellow. Malty and grassy aroma. Musky taste with low carbonation. Meh.

Tap at the Sweetwater Draft House. Pours a transparent golden with a thick layer of cream colored head. Aroma of malts and a slight hint of hops. Taste is similar but a bit smoother
