Road trips are balls-out adventures loaded with unexpected twists, just like when this beer hit black ice and got spun!. It started out as an IPA recipe, but halfway down the road it blew a tire and a Pilsner yeast was pitched as a spare; an IPP yo! The fiery Pilsner backbone adds a nitrous-like boost to the van load of hops that would make any German pucker up when those hop afterburners singe their lederhosen!

Brewed with a Lager yeast at Ale temps using Sterling hops and Pilsner Malt to make this a crisp and hoppy twisted up seasonal treat.

The beer has a citrus smell with a hint of lemon. The head is not very strong. It has a golden color. Initially the taste is quality, but the aftertaste in not that pleasant.

Pours a nice medium amber color. Aromas of sweet malts, and the faintest hint of hops. Flavors of caramel sweetness, a touch of fruit, and almost no hop. Nice dry finish.

Hazy golden coloured body with a rich, thick, three centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, grass, light hops and a touch of citrus. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour up front with a grassy note, some subdued earthiness and a pale, yet distinct malt flavour. Aftertaste is a touch bland with a little grassiness and a light metallic note and a faint sweetness near the end. Overall, a light yet pungent grassy character with noticeable finish - not a bad beer for the style and showing much less bitterness than others in this style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street NW), DC on 28-May-2015 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 12-November-2015.

Bottle. The deScription has a lot of flowery language for an IPA. Dark gold color with a large head. Citrus and spruce taste and aroma.

Thanks to iNBE. A little ale like and a little lager like. Both kind of sweet and hoppy. OK. Serving: Bottle

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured bright yellow, clear, white fizzy head and lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat, yeast and some hope; actually not bad. Taste is tart, hoppy, some grain but a bit too watery for my taste. Is not a bad beer by any means, but it’s certainly not a rockstar either.

Enjoy by 7/1/15 Slightly hazy gold color with a rocky white head. The aroma is big on spicy, citrusy, and floral Sterling hops. There is an underlying bready, crackery aroma of pils malt as well. Light malt body gets out of the way quick as a huge hop presence takes over. Finishes well on the bitter side, but clean and refreshing. Pretty good stuff.

Fairly straightforward pale malts - biscuity - with a dryish, almost continental hop character.

Semi-bitter grainy taste. Fruit in the aroma but mostly grain. Pretty light bodied and somewhat dry.

Bottle into a pilsner glass. Best by 05/24/2015 so over a week past freshness date and it was priced accordingly. A: Medium gold with a slight haze and an inch of head retaining nicely. Lots of carbonation and good lacing too. S: Light bread scent with a faint spicy hop note in the background. T: A bitter herbal taste up front fairly dominates anything coming in behind. Not altogether good. A bit of a round maltiness finally detected but too little too late. I guess the hop bombs were diffused with age. M: Medium body and slightly above average carbonation. Pretty average. O: This beer is past it’s freshness date which may explain it’s herbal/vegetal character. I’m sure it deserves another rating and maybe it will receive one but it will be a while before I purchase this again. Not very good.

Bottle poured a golden in color with a thin coating of white head. Aroma has pilsner malts, grains, and some light hops. Mouth feel is light with good carbonation. Flavor has the pilsner snap, pale malt, mild hops, and light bitterness into the finish.
