On tap at GABF 2012. Pours with a hazy golden hued body with a white head. Aromas are spicy, rye malt, peanut shells, isoamyl acid. Flavors are grassy, cleaner than the nose, fruity, rye, citrus, spicy. Medium carbonation, off-dry. Drake (13954) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Served on draft at the Sterling location along with a really freaking annoying graham cracker garnish and a glass so cold the beer literally froze. Pours a clear amber with no head. Aroma of toasted malts, rye, banana, grain, mild herbal hops. The taste is herbal hops, toasted malts. Thin-medium bodied. DCLawyer (2846) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Draft at source. Cloudy amber gold with little head. Aroma and taste have banana, malt, bread. A bit metallic. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - SEP 30, 2012
On tap 5 oz. sample at Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA.
Clear, lightly hazy, copper red-orange with a khaki head and good lacing.
Aroma of caramel, brown sugar and nuts.
Taste of banana, banana bread, caramel, brown sugar and a musty bitter flavor with a bit of dirty socks.
Medium body and medium carbonation.

Tap. Pours a hazy and cloudy light amber body with lotsa fizzy carbonation. The nose is estery with lots of banana and some light rye bread. The flavor is more sweet than spicy with lots of banana bread, light rye, and bubblegum. Seems like there might be some caraway in there as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, rather soft, with a nice almost slurry like texture. Pretty decent, almost Weizenbock like with the touch of rye.

Placed this under the Roggenbier category, as that’s where this is listed for the Sweetwater Tavern - Centreville location. Tasted more like a Rye Beer / Hefeweizen blend, but I’ll stick with consistency here.
A: Poured a somewhat-cloudy copper with a nice white head and a good amount of lacing as it went down.
S: Definitely spicy rye character alongside some pretty characteristic German yeastiness--definite notes of banana alongside a little bit of clove.
T: Rye spice and loads of banana flavor. Some sweet malt in the background.
M: Fairly dry with a medium body. Good carbonation.
D: Excellent drinkability. Good all-around complexity with a nice smoothness coming from the yeast.

Tap. Pours hazy brown with a small to medium, frothy, off-white head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is banana initially with biscuit and bread malt, medium-light fruity esters (plum), and no hops. Flavor is malt focused with caramelized bananas and low bitterness. Medium bodied, creamy texture, medium carbonation. EricE (1367) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 6, 2010
Orange-red opaque and hazy pour with a thin white head. Funky yeast aroma. Slightly sweet yeasty flavor with lots of banana. brainlair (236) - Maryland, USA - MAR 4, 2010
On tap at Sweetwater in Merrifield. A deep amber color, looks very opaque and unfiltered. Smells like overripe bananas and yeast. Wheaty sweet banana taste, with a bit of malt managing to break through. Too sweet and not enough else going on, I’m not really a fan. MaltDawg (1344) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 8, 2010
(Sample Date: 5/16/2009 Source:Other) Spicy banana clove aroma over moderate caramel maltiness. Cloudy orange amber with white head. Sweet. Big banana clove spiciness with a medium finish. Good
