Growler shared by Ryan (thanks!) at the RBSG Grand Tasting. Poured slightly hazy dark amber with a near white yellow brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was dark grains with a bit of caramel and grassy notes. Flavor had some more smoke combining with some roasted malts and grassy notes. madsberg (11798) - Søborg, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2015
Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Dense light brown head. Aroma. Sweetness, roast, berries, some vague herbs. flavour. Caramel, sweetness, berrries, light roast. Medium bodied. Sampled at RBSG Grand Rapids. Deep amber pour. A little bit of soft cocoa. Fresh and earthy. Cocoa overlying some mostly pale malt. Fairly clean finish though. A touch of roast on the back - but nothing crazy. Long lingering bitterness. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 7, 2012
Growler thanks to EricE. Huge tan head formation. Rocky and sheen. Great lace and retention. Roasty, sharper nose with some melon fruitiness. Taste is tangy, roasty, mild coffee, soil, earth. Dry, tangy palate. Drier. On style. Sessionable roasty lager.

At Falls Church location. Pours a pretty dark color (almost black) with a medium, fast dissipating head. Notes of smoke and a strong roasted malt aroma. Flavor is malty, roasted, *much* better after allowing the frozen glass to warm up after about 20 minutes. jgb9348 (6583) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 17, 2009
Clear deep amber coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, nuts and a bit of spice. Light to Medium-bodied; Malty flavour up front with some light hops and subtle spices and nuts noticeable as well. Aftertaste shows more of the same, nothing great noticeable throughout the beer. Overall, not really worth trying unless you’ve had everything else at the brewpub - there are too many other beer offerings here. I sampled this beer on draught as a sampler at the Shirlington Oktoberfest in Arlington, Virginia on 07 October 2006. brnandersen (4344) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2015
Sample from 66 cl. bottle. Dark brown colour with a thin, off-white head. Sweet aroma with roasted notes, nuts and caramel malts. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted with bread and fruity hints. MrChopin (4305) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 9, 2012
Translucent chestnut, oily cream top, large bubbled ring. Nose is rich roast, wood, caramel sweetness in check by grain. Flavor is fantastically balanced, so much toasty grain and honey, huge balance, yet so delicate through the silky finish. Fantastic shit.
