4 oz pour on draft at Sweetwater Tavern Merrifield. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasty notes. Tastes of milk chocolate, light licorice, roasty notes, bitter cocoa. Medium body with a dry finish. Solid.

On tap 12/31/08: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin light tan head. Aroma is mild and slightly roasted. Grolwer. Black bodied with a huge fomay brown head. Nose is coffe, roasted malts, dark chocolate, light woody notes, and vanilla. This is not unlike Dominion’s Oak Barrel Stout from the bottle. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and light cocoa. Body is smooth and fully carbonated. Very pleasant feel to it. Finish is roasty malts, chocolate and burnt coffee. Tap at Sterling. Poured a dark brown, with a light brown head. Looked a little creamy. Aroma was light, of coffee and chocolate. Flavor was mostly roasted malt, coffee and some chocolate hints. Have had better of the style.
