On tap and from a growler at Sweetwater in Sterling. Pours a striking clear deep golden with a thick, billowy white head - picture perfect. Nose of fresh pils malt, light yeasty dough, a whiff of soft pretzels and a huge presence of herbal, zesty hops. Nice fresh bread-like pils malt base, with notes of lemon, light dough and then a blast of fresh hay and grassy noble hops. Has that striking, satisfying true pils bitterness which provides a nice bite in the finish. Medium, smooth body with lively carbonation - extremely drinkable. Just a beautiful pils - the ideal session beer. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - FEB 29, 2008
Clear straw body with a large, creamy white head that fades to a cover. Herbal/grassy hop dominated nose with lemon and light dough. The flavor is fairly dry, moderately bitter with lots of grassy and herbal hops, light lemon, light bread and a bit of hay. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation. Finish is long with a clean, crisp bitterness. Awesome. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 28, 2008
From a wonderfully large and menacing growler via Kmweaver. Shared with my GF Cyn and likely a whole bunch of people later tonight. Pours golden sparkly clear with a nice big puffy white head. Really nice head retention, really nicely sealed flip top growler. Nose is sweet and light and pretty damn nice. Hoppy with a bright lemony citrus bite. This is really damn tasty and a little bitter and pretty damn awesome for the style, probalby wouldn’t seek this out unless I had known it was so good, this could be sessioned for days. Very drinkable and full of flavor. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 25, 2010
Thanks to ryan at RBSG GT! Growler. Pours a crisp very clear lighter yellow. , fizzy. Aroma is dry, floral, very grassy, chalky biscuity. Flavor is quite amazing, perfect attenuation, very dry, extremely drinkable, and has a unique noble hop flavor, the malt base is really what makes this though, a perfect platform to showcase the floral noble hops, light breadiness with surprising depth. Super clean and full flavored, very delicate, refreshing and quenching. I think I should go buy a lawnmower just for this beer! Thanks ryan! Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 6, 2008
Fresh growler courtesy of kmweaver. Pours a brilliant gold with a nice white head. Smells of light lemons, perfume, straw, hay, dry malt, hints of sweetness. Tastes subtly dry with a dominant bitterness. Lots of biscuits and earthiness as the beer settles out. Mouthfeel is crisp. Some hints of fruit on the finish. Excellent!

Lovely hoppy and crisp, great bready malt profile with grassy, slight herbal hop aromas. Nice sourdough flavors. Fuller in the body than the classic Jever, with a slighter heftier body and a little sugar in the flavor - not as much mineral as other Classic Germans I’ve had. Insanely drinkable as most great pilsners are. Thanks Ryan! 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 26, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2011 Draft @ Merrifield. Clear striking yellow with a firm ½ inch white head. Hugely grassy, hoppy, dry, IPA-ish hop usage in the nose, but with such an amazingly clean, yeasty, delicate funk as well. Again, IPA-level bitterness, with dried hop cones, dried weed, dried grass clippings, along with a huge yeast character – pillowy, starchy, dry, musky bread and fluffy whipped cream. An amazingly delicious and clean beer, one of the best overly hoppy pils I’ve had. brainlair (236) - Maryland, USA - MAR 4, 2010
On tap at Sweetwater in Merrifield. Transparent filtered amber with a frothy white head. Nice herbal hop aroma, no sweetness or alcohol detectable. Tastes extremely dry, with a great herbal hop flavor that makes me think of the way thai basil smells. Reminds me of the Stillwater Stateside Saison, which is a huge compliment! I could drink this forever, after having a glass on tap I was compelled to buy a growler. alexsdad06 (10483) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Sample from a growler shared by ryan @ RBSG. Pours a clear yellow/golden color with a small creamy white head. The aroma is floral, herbal and lightly grassy hops with a pale, bready malt base. The flavor has a pale bready malt base with a hefty dose of herbal grassy hops. Light citrus notes throughout. Moderate bitterness, fairly dry, medium bodied. What a great way to start the grand tasting off; easily the best pilsner I’ve had. Thanks ryan!

Draft - Merrifield - Best of the bunch here in my opinion. Clear sparkling yellow, fluffy white head (great lacing). Fruity buttery florals and hints of grassiness rests on soft notes of white bread. Crisp hoppy lemony earth and touches of herbal pepper balance over soft sweet yeasty notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. A very nice rendition which is perfect for food pairing or sessions...
