COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: This strong dark ale is based on a mix of specially selected Belgian malts and an authentic Belgian trappist yeast. The aroma is characterized by dark berries and fruit. The gentle and complex flavor is spicy, vinous, caramel and candi sweet, slightly oily and with a delicate touch of chocolate, balanced with a well-matched bitterness. The beer will do excellent with heavy dishes, for lunch and even as a companion to desserts containing chocolate. Direktøren is a development of the brewer’s award-winning beer, which took the gold medal of the Scandinavian Championship in 2010. It will evolve with age and can be stored for many years.

En meget blid øl. Direktøren måtte godt sætte sig bedre i respekt. God øl, der ikke gør nogen fortræd.

Bottle. 8.5%. Best before 20.02.21. Pours a hazy/cloudy dark red/brown with a frothy, fluffy, light tan head. Good lacing. Sweetish aroma, dark fruits with (tart) berries; notably a strawberry note, light yeast note as well. Flavour is dark fruits, malt, caramel, berries, yeast and a light spicy note. Somewhat tart finish with more dark fruits, caramel and light yeast notes. Mild alcohol burn as well. Lingering grassy, yeast and dark fruit notes. Way too much carbonation. Overall good, well-balanced and fairly complex, but the carbonation is annoying. 14.11.16.

The aroma of berries and malt. The taste is light coffee, dark malt, some berries and malty. Fairly heavy but not so great bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Fairly difficult to drink. Not so good either. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle. An unclear, dark amber colored beer with a minimal sized light beige head. The aroma is rather chocolatey, with roasted malts and a touch of hops. Dark sugar in large amounts, both in the aroma and the flavor, especially in the flavor. Full to medium body with a soft carbonation and some warmth. Lasting finish. Some cooked vegetables all the way. Not very interesting this one, it’s way too sweet, but it’s far from bad though. 141231
