This triple is a peach schnapp beer with tangerines, brandy, oranges and apricots. Shows great depths and as you expect from schnapps the finish is very sweet. Lucky for us, no alcohol.

Cloudy yellow pour, with an off white head. Sweet and fruity, fig, orange, sugary, light herbal hops, and cookie dough malt. A nice sweet desert beer, not bad for a tripel, which I normally don’t appreciate much.

Bottle @ Frigo, Shibuya, Tokyo: Thin head, light lacing, nose of sweet hops, clean malt, nice bouquet and a floral flavor. Hoppy overall with some malt sweetness. Good.

Bottle 330 ml at home, into a tulip glass. ABV 8.5% Light gusher, nothing that can’t be prevented. Deep orange colour on the body with some big chunks of yeastfloating around. Huge head, slighty off-white, soapy, with good retention. Medium lacing on the glass. Boozy aroma that matches well with the malts, the sugar and the fruity notes of apricot. Taste has also lots of alchohol, apricots and peaches with malts coming from the back, albeit subtle. Medium and airy body, fizzy carbonation. Not much to say about this one, a classic tripel, only more alcohol fueled.

Hazy dark gold amber with a light yellowish khaki head. The aroma is spicy with lotsw of cinnamon and pears. There is also some funky leather and dandelions. The taste is initially very spicy with cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is woody and a little dry, evne after the sweet pear like fruit middle. A decent, and possibly the spiciest tripel I have ever tried.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with a small head. Sugar cane and rye bread aroma. Citric flavours mixed with spicy rye bread. A bit hard on the tongue with noticeable alcohol.

Alengrin (5087) - BELGIUM - AUG 6, 2014
Triple with dense, firm, off-white foam and warm orange blonde colour with a somewhat pinkish hue, equally fuzzy because of delicate, dusty yeast particles that become big yeast clouds after pouring in the deposit. Nutty aroma with subdued fruits (orange, apricot, tomato), some vanilla, sage, leather, cognac, black pepper. Dry taste with vivid fruitiness, medium carbonated, on a caramelly maltiness, nutty and spicy tones, finishing in a peppery hop bitterishness. Moderately okay tripel but a bit redundant, in my view.
