Pours deep clear brown with substantial mocha head and lacing. The intoxicating aroma was strongly of roasted malts with a bit of molasses or toffee. Flavor was richly endowed with roasted malt and some dark fruits. The sweetness was happily restrained. This was delicious and drinkable and I’ll definately seek it out again.

Aroma sweet with a hints of chocolate, bubblegum and vanilla but mostly reminiscent of sangria. Taste less sweet: dark fruits with lingering burnt malts: strong but a bit dull. Mouthfeel thick with soft carbonation.

33ml bottle. Near black body that’s opaque in the glass and has an excellent tan head. Aroma: spicy and sweet. Flavor: dynamic with a sweet spicy start transitioning to a mildly bitter, roasty and nutty flavor. Lots of dark roasted grain with negligible burnt aspects. Delicious roasted grain aftertaste. Overall: Intriguing aroma, very good flavor, outstanding mouthfeel. Closer to an American stout than a typical Belgium stout. Worth seeking out.

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Aroma of sweet malt. Opaque brown / black color, deep tan head that sinks to a full cover, sheets of lace. Taste is rich toasted malt with medium fizz, then medium hops that are more dark chocolate that anything else. It isn’t helped by a somewhat chalky aftertaste. Good, not great. Once is enough for me.

Bottle. Spiced aroma, sweet. Sweet and light taste, with a gentle roast finish. Tastes a bit like a Milk Tray coffee chocolate. Light hint of sourness. Quite refined.

JPDIPSO (6286) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 18, 2016
Mild gusher. Brown color with a taller head that slow dissipates to a light tan ring around the glass. Dark fruits, light tar and chocolate, hint of coffee and roasted malt in the aromas. The scents are there, but they do not seem to mingle well. Fairly thin and bubbly feel. Dark chocolate and cocoa start. More and more acidity the further I go. Some mild tobacco and floral components. Dries out in the finish with just a little ash and black malt acidity. Complex, but not always balanced. 4/10

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Dark brown/black colour, brown foam. Sweet nose of caramel, bitter roasted malts, also tart notes. Bitter and roasty, bit weak and watery, some tart hints. Ok stout.
