Bottle(donker) pours very dark brown almost black with a 2 finger light tan head. Plenty of floaties. Smells like roasted barley, spent coffe grinds, and thin alcohol. The mouth is super creamy and matches the tons of dark malt in the flavor. There is some smokiness and a little bit of chocolate. I love how malty it is. The mouth compliments the roasty flavors very well. nuplastikk (6313) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 1, 2011
11.2oz bottle. Quite lively, exploding gusher when poured. Steady monstrous head. Clean, minty chocolate aroma. This really comes off to me as a Belgian Black IPA, not overbearing, but really quite similar. Such an explosive thick layer of head, I can’t get much aroma. Sweet and rich, bitter chocolate covered hop tones. A really tasty beer, approaching the mint flavor of a girl scout cookie. A really nice beer. drpimento (3672) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Not bad, not bad. Poured at a good temperature with a lovely, massive, thick, foam, frothy, billowy, light tan head that slowly settles and lots of lace. Color is an appealing clear, amber brown with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is malt, yeast, bread dough, rye, fruit. Flavor’s like nose, is fairly well balanced between, sweet, bitter, and carbonic tang, with sweet on top, then bitter wiith the tang not so strong but the action of fhe carbonation perfectly offsetting the other two main characteristics. Body is good. Finish is like flavor, fairly long and has a little booziness. Good drinking beer. thedm (6222) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 11, 2015
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque except at the edges dark brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The nice aroma was Anise brown ale and old ale. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a lingering malty aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of old ale mild caramel mildly vinous and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. diabel (1715) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - APR 14, 2009
Bottle Deep brown to black, clear body. Creamy/fizzy, small head that diminishes fastly. Aroma of mint chocolate ("after eight"), molasses, caramel, medicine, ... bit weird. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour which is also quite medicinal but nice.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Holy black IPA batman, this beer rocks.
Brune col fin beige.
Bov (12888) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 6, 2008
from crackedkettle.com - pours a hazy dark ruby-brown colour, solid and persistent creamy beige foam; aroma of ginger, bread and apple; sweet and juicy, low carbonation and a respectable malt body; finishes a bit sticky and bitter with a long bready and gently fruity aftertaste omhper (25250) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 29, 2009
Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Cloudy dark mahogany colour, small creamy head. Fruity viola and licorcie aroma. Fairly dry with aniseed, menthol and grass. Fresh and alive with medium body and some late bitterness- Complex and tasty. Borresteijn (7269) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 8, 2009
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Bottle almost exploded upon opening, leaving just enough to sample the beer. Unclear reddish brown colour, creamy off white to beige head. Thick aroma of caramel, malts, molasses, anise, a hint of mint. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel/toffee/fudge, some yeast, some subdued sour spiciness. Light bitter finish. Fullbodied, soft, light prickly mouthfeel. Tasty beer. Dedollewaitor (16176) - Odense, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2012
