A little smokey and oxidized caramel maltiness.. pretty thin body and not much in the way of a proper barleywine.. Average at best.

0.33 l bottle at ’Café Gollem’ (Raamsteeg). Hazy, dark brownish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of raisins, prunes, caramel, vanilla and brown sugar. Sweet, malty and minimally fruity taste of raisins, prunes, brown sugar, caramel and some vanilla, followed by a medium long, slightly warming, minimally alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

At a tasting, many thanks Mom and Dad, almost no head, slow gushing, murky brown color with reddish taints, aroma of smoke, oak and vanila, flavor of smoked cheese with a biscuity sweetish malt and some oak, light sourness, light to medium bitterness. A bit strange, fair.

DSG (15119) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 17, 2015

oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 13, 2015
Bottled. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is toffee, some rather boozy notes along with some slight fruity and floral notes. Flavour is quite boozy with some very sweet fruity and floral notes as well as mild spices. Too much alcohol for it’s own good.

MMR (833) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 25, 2015
Pours a thick brown (almost black) glass of beer. A very nice Barley Wine with a nice aroma of malt and hops.
