33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, shared with Plovmand and Theis. Hazy amber colour, off white head. Aroma of sugar, IJ yeast, funk, grassy hops, fruits. Flavour is sweet, fruity, yeasty, alcohol, sugar, but also rather bitter with a grassy bitter finish. Medium bodied. Prefer the regular version, but this is good stuff as well. Bottle, thanks Menno! Enjoyed this in the company of some very friendly beer geeks. Had a fun evening. The brew itself is nice, quite yeasty with the typical ’t IJ yeast flavor that dominates all their beers. Loads of hops on this one as well, mostly floral. Bitter brew, but I like that. Slightly better than the original Speciale Vlo. skortila (5875) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2010
Bottled. Tnx Menno. The aroma has grass, flower, citrus, banana, yeast. Hazy, orange coloured with an off-white head. The taste has a nice lingering bitterness, some malt, citric and flowery hops. Good. caesar (7161) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2010
Bottled, thx to Menno. Hazy yellow color, large head. Aroma of some banana, yeast, spices, soft dryhopping noticeable. Soft bitter taste, bit sweet, reminding me of a Hoegaarden Grand Cru, the ’golden standard’ in wheat-like triples. The dryhopping is a good and well-balanced addition to the aroma. Not overdone, but nicely balanced with the original aroma. abcbeers (43) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 7, 2010
