After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

Heidbummer (986) - SCOTLAND - MAY 13, 2017
Draft Brewdog Edinburgh. Malty and nutty aroma and taste. Expected a bit more complexity but ni dice. It’s more amber ale than dubbel. Decent.

Flaska.

nathanvc (798) - Brugge, BELGIUM - MAR 20, 2017
Pours hazy orange/brown with a diminishing off-white head. The aroma contains malt, caramel, toffee, plum, nuts, yeast and some spices. It tastes medium sweet and medium bitter. Yeasty, dry finish. Medium body, lively carbonation. Nice and interesting but not impressive.

Gangstergafje (1358) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - FEB 18, 2017
The beer has a nice look. The color is a beautiful dark brown/ruby red. The beer is quite clear. On top a nice layer of almond coloured foam is formed. The foam is soft, but collapses quickly. A minimal drape of foam remains on top of the beer. The smell of the beer is nice. I smell some raisiny yeast aromas. I also smell some orange, biscuits, liquorice. The smell is in good balance, with sweet and bitter tones balancing each other out quite nicely. The taste is in good balance. I taste some alcohol, almonds, biscuits and some fruits. The smell has an ice sweetness to it, balanced by a lovely hoppy bitterness. It is very nice.

Svartvit (1005) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 24, 2016
Bottle in Veghel. Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Sweet malts, caramel, yeast, dark fruits. Light bitter, over medium sweet. Medium body, low carbonation.
