After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

Michael27 (1998) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUL 11, 2017

On tap. Pours a deep mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of sugar and earth yeasty. Flavor of minerals and earth, burnt dark fruit, and sugar. A classic example of a poor dubbel.

Bottiglia.

Heidbummer (653) - SCOTLAND - MAY 13, 2017
Draft Brewdog Edinburgh. Malty and nutty aroma and taste. Expected a bit more complexity but ni dice. It’s more amber ale than dubbel. Decent.
