COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

Draught @ ’t Ij, Amsterdam. Hazy brown. Dried fruits and caramelised malts with mild brambly hops and light tart yeastiness. Pleasantly drinkable.

MonsterMagnet (1595) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 11, 2017
Bottle, pours a red/brown with a light beige head. Spicy and sugary nose. Taste is sweet and malty with caramel and brown sugar, dark bread, spices, raisins. Some bitterness. Good example of a rather dull style.

Dull sweetness in aroma. Taste is sweet sugar combined with esters scattered all over the place. Thin palate. Aftertaste you want to get rid of.

Decent dubbel-like beer. Banana, figs, nuts. Somewhat sweet perhaps. Subtle bitterness.

Piepenhenrich (1252) - Steinbach, GERMANY - NOV 10, 2017
From bottle. Pours ruby-brown with beige head that won‘t stay long. Malty aroma. Flavors are more complex combining malts, some fruit and a hoppy/spicy sting that makes this a very interesting brew to have.

Mpuntmuts (341) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 1, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2017 Tap. Cloudy amber brown with small beige head. Burnt sugar, caramelized malts, dried fruits peaking through for smell. Taste follows the nose. Medium body with medium carbo. Okay beer.

Appearance: Very dark reddish brown. Seems clear. Some off-white head.

Aroma: Dark fruits, some malt, sweetness.
