COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Plzeň goes to show that a beer doesn’t need a lot of alcohol to be special. With its fine, hoppy flavour, this 5% blond beer can certainly hold its own against the stronger beers. Brewed only from pale barley malt, this is a floral beer with delightful, hoppy aromas of hay and fresh grass. Deliciously dry, with a long-lasting aftertaste. We named the beer after the Czech town of Plzeň, from which Pilsner beers originate. Despite that, our Plzeň is not a Pilsner; it is a refreshing, bitter, top-fermented beer.

duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2004
Bottle. A pils with a distincive Belgian sort of flavour (yes, i know its from Holland), more like a Belgian ale. Quite yeasty/spicy, with some citric bitterness, on the drier side of the scale, slightly sour and acidic.

JPDIPSO (6298) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUL 9, 2004
Cloudy dirty straw color with a smaller white head. Dry hay and mild tobacco aromas. Flavors of weeds, pale malt and sourdough. Interesting brew in that you you ponder why you are drinking it, but it calls you back to try it again.

MilkmanDan (1942) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - JUN 15, 2004
Hazy gold. Ludicrously massive head for something labeled a pils. Nose is yeasty and lemony, a mite funky, possibly a bit of spice. Good yeasty character up front, some sweet malts, a bit of berry fruitiness. Good stuff.

maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUN 13, 2004
Bottle at Evening Star Brighton. A sweet aroma to this hazy golden lager. The taste is typically lagerish only with much more character and cleanliness than most. refreshing.

3.3
sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 29, 2004
Hazy blonde color, small head. Yeasty, hay aroma. Slightly sour, hoppy pilsner flavor with some yeast. Quite carbonated (but soft), oily palate. Easily drinkable, smooth and refreshing pils (or is it really a blonde ale?).

Ungstrup (38958) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 13, 2004
An orange beer with a beutiful dense white head. The aroma is of grass and yeast. The flavor is of yeast and a dry coriander finish. This beer tastes more like an ale than a pilsener - this mystifies me. For an ale it is good - but for a pilsener it is bad.

Hildigöltur (5103) - København, DENMARK - APR 11, 2004
Golden coloured. Grassy, fruity and hoppy aroma. Dry and grassy flavour with notes of salad. Fruits and some yeast in the flavour. It tastes more like an ale than a pilsener.

fiulijn (21516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 13, 2004
Blond color, stormy perlage, big head. Simple aroma, some citrus fruits. Pleasant taste; probably it's top fermentation; soft, malts. Ends more bitter than aromatic. Thanks Jacob (Lövenlund) for this bottle.

3.4
argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 4, 2003
Golden hazy body with small off-white head. Aroma is flowery, yeasty, melon, citrus. Taste starts moderate sweet, fruity and floral, turns lemon and grassy bitter. Medium body.
