3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 7%. Golden colour, not as pale and milky as other witbiers, big to moderate white head. Nice aroma and flavour of coriander, cloves and orange peel. Very drinkable, despite its higher ABV.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasting from Feb’ 2008.
Into a chalice, chilled. Presents a hazy, pastelly orange with a few globules of protein in suspension. Firm, inch thick pad of white dons it and leaves behind some messy lacework. Caramel, rough woody notes, nail polish remover, spicy navel oranges and lychee make for an interesting aroma profile with a showing of what must be the house yeast found evident in most of their beers I’ve tasted. In the mouth it is slightly rough, a big yeasty bite, hairy and piney, mildly acidic. Good level of citrus fruit with navels again apparent. Unsalted peanuts in the aftertaste along with more yeasty notes and drowned citrus. Medium bodied, firm mouthfeel, quite smooth in the back. Overall a strange beer that pulls it off for all the wrong reasons. Keeps the interest at least. (33cL, BBE 09/08, The International Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle. Hazy brown-golden colour, large white head. Spicy-fruity nose. Rather full-bodied for a witbier, very solid malty base with lots of spices and hops. Dry palate. Very nice, unusually "heavy" for the style, but in a very pleasant way.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A- Pours a hazy yellow with a frothy head that doesn’t last very long and leaves little lacing.
S- Smelled really nice, lot’s of Banana, fresh baked bread, and some vanilla. Very sweet smelling with some spice added
T- Not as clean tasting as most Wit’s, but still very tasty and I am not complaining. Again, banana along with some other fruity flavors, apple maybe, cloves, spice, and some pepper on the back end. Very different but really tasty and went SO nicely with brunch. Weird because it was not what I was looking for but still I really liked it.
M- Pretty smooth, but normally that is not what I am looking for in a Wit. Hmm usually the big bubbles and light zing is a great palate cleanser with food. This one is smooth and creamy. . . good but not what I prefer in a Wit.
D- Very easy to drink, but again when compared to most Wit’s it does not have those same clean, refreshing qualities. I could still drink this quite a bit but it’s just not the same.
Very good beer, but not in the traditional sense. Most of the Beers from ’t IJ that I have tried have been a bit "different" so I guess this is no surprise. In the end I rated this as the beer itself and NOT as or compared to other Witbiers.
