COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly called ’t IJ Scharrel IJwit A full-bodied, Amsterdam wheat beer that is dangerously ‘moreish’. Slightly cloudy, it has a beautiful golden colour and a soft, foamy head. When we brew IJwit, we use wheat malt as well as barley malt, which is also how the beer gets its name. The wheat malt gives the beer a delightful, fresh flavour, and the addition of coriander and lemon during the brewing process produces a rich aroma of banana, citrus and spices. Topped off by a fine, slightly sweet aftertaste, IJwit is a delicious thirst-quencher.

Cloudy pale straw color with a white head. Tons of coriander on the aroma along with some citrus peel, a nice bread sweetness, and some yeast. A touch of lemon in there as well. The flavor is a bit more bread/malt forward. Some nice coriander spice flavor, a light orange peel flavor and bitterness, some straw, and yeast. Quite sweet, actually.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2017 Lekker fris en zacht van smaak. De koriandersmaak die sommigen aangeven te proeven, haal ik er niet uit.

Excellent looks! Pours up with a bright golden color and a thick creamy white head. Distinctive sweet wheat beer taste adding spices and esters in the finish. Perfectly balanced, medium bodied with a full round palate. Not too much attention put to the esters, a very clean beer with no sharp edges. A lot sweeter than most wit´s, but again as I said- very well balanced. A good beer for sure.

Tap @Arendsnest Proeflokaal. Medium white head, yellow/golden colour, lightly hazy. Aroma: grass, herbs, flowers. Lightly sour with sweet aftertaste. Full body, long finish, average carbonation. Nicely refreshing and drinkable.

.33l botte in Best. Hazy yellow beer woth frothy white head. Nose is grain and hop. Taste is a surprising combination between fresh and bitter. Palate is medium thick. Carbonation is medium. Fine beer.

I find it to bitter for a white beer. Not something for a warm sunny day. The appearance is good, it is available in a lot of supermarkets today.
