COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A barley wine brewed in the English style. Struis is a full-bodied beer with a deep, dark colour and a soft, long-lasting head. The aroma is dark and sweet, with clear tones of chocolate and dried fruit. The aftertaste is dry and long-lasting, and leaves you yearning for more. A delicious accompaniment to food and ideal with skeapsrond cheese. Struis is only available as a bottled beer.

PunkBunny (66) - Benoni, SOUTH AFRICA - SEP 13, 2016
Pours dark amber. Very low head that disappears, with lacing on the sides. Aroma: Dark fruit and sweet malt smell. Taste: Slight caramel, dark fruit, prune. Alcohol medium. Smooth mouthfeel. Some bitterness at the back of the throat. Overall, well balanced and very nice.

sjogro (3956) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 4, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2016 Bottle at home. Clear dark brown with red hue. Thin creme head. Sweet barley malt, prune, chestnuts, quite a fierce alcoholic note. Big sweet and some tea leaf dry bitterness, and a lost grain of salt. Over medium body, low carbonation. Alcoholic kick is pretty strong and makes the otherwise soft carbonation come out a bit spikey. Bittersweet maple syrup finish.

Dark, without foam, a bit of sourness and sweetness, is a pleasant bitterness in taste and aftertaste sweet can be smaller recommend

330 ml bottle. Dark brown colour with stable huge creamy head off with small pieces of yeasts inside. Aroma of yeasts, candi sugar, plumbs. Taste is sweet, caramel, chocolate, barley malts, toffies. Expected better

3.8
Fules (1190) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - JUN 1, 2016
Nagy, nagyon tartós hab, sötétbarna szín. Nem túl intenzív malátás illat. Intenzív pörkölt malátás ízvilág, némi fűszerességgel. Az alkoholt egyáltalán nem érezni, kiválóan elrejtették. Utóíze a korty folytatása, ami sokáig kitart. Testes, nehéz sör.

jamesie1857 (2112) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2016
330ml bottle from Saveur Biére - Dull flat orangey brown body, not much in the way of a head. Nose is barleysugar sweets, a bit of freshly made caramel, brown sugar and a background of dustiness. Taste is sweet, a little sticky, dry at the end, bit of a boozy burn but not too harsh. Very nice, but a bit ugly.
