COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first beer to come out of our vats, back in 1985, making it the classic beer of Brouwerij ‘t IJ. It is a ‘tripel’, the category reserved for the stronger, blonde beers in Belgian tradition. Zatte more than lives up to expectations in this respect. It is a full-bodied, golden beer with a scent of fresh fruit mingled here and there with a hint of grain. The flavour is slightly sweet, ending with a fine, dry aftertaste. A delicious beer that can be enjoyed in all seasons.

Een lekker tripel, gedronken uit fles. Warme kleur, ruikt lekker en goede smaak. Zoetig.

Mooie schuimkraag.

Schuimkraag verwijst snel.

Somewhat drier, but also slightly less interesting of a tripel. Well-balanced. OK.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden, medium white head, good lacing. Aroma is floral, spicy, coriander, herbs, a touch of honey. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, floral and spiced with some abv burn. Medium body, soft mouthfeel.

Bottiglia.

Really, really nice triple. Everything you would expect from a triple, but the fruity tones make this triple special

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: hazy yellowish golden with medium white head. Aroma: sweet malts, yeast, some orange/orange zest. Taste: farily high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of spices, grains and orange zest. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and lively texture. Balance is a little on the sweet side. Pretty good.

Bottle at home. Orange pour with a white head. Aroma of bready yeast and spice. Sweet start with some bitterness to balance. Flavours of caramel, nut, fruit, vanilla and more yeast. Lively carbonation but I found the body a bit thin. Pretty good.

Draft - Sweet and fruity with dirty yeast notes. Clear yellow gold with a decent white head. Sweet, fruity and again that yeast strain I just don’t like.
