The Schapenkop is the name of the Triple beer. The name Schapenkop (sheep’s head) originates from the local dialect, and literally means Nieuwkerkenaar (person from Nieuwkerken, the location of the brewery).

Bottle @ home.

CONCLUSION : une bière hors de son style.

Smaak: zoet, basterdsuiker, banaan. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Redelijk volmondig. Afdronk: zoetig en licht bitterig. Te zoete tripel voor mij.

Hazy amber with a white head. Nose is fruity and herby. Body is medium, carbon high, texture medium. Taste is sweet and sour. Palate gives a feeling og ripe fruits and ssome hints of fermentation flavor. Short finish. [email protected]

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear yellow to light orange color, average to medium sized white head. Aroma is initally quite fresh, slightly hops and lightly citrussy. After a while it becomes a bit sweetish with hints of orangepeel. Taste malts, lightly fruity, lightly some orangepeel, a bit sweet-sourish in the distance. Decent body and carbonation. Decent to medium body, soft carbonation. Aroma is quite nice but the flavor has a bit too much of that sweet-sourish fruitpeel for me to really enjoy it. Ok beer though.

My friend told me, about the aroma, it’s like an old mango mash. And this is totally true. The taste is around the same theme, but with a hint of alcohol. The beer is flat and is sadly disgusting over the time.

Hazy yellow colour. Aroma and flavour have some yeast, citrus and sweet malts. A nice and smooth tripel.
