3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle, #70 with a cap and cork. Poured a brilliant shade of translucent orange with a nice initial cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sour oak with accents of passion fruit, golden raisins, mango, and vinous notes.. oxidation and interesting spices too.. alcohol amplified everything well.. intriguing. The flavor opened with peppered-up raisins and oak, with honey and vanilla-kissed, more meaty golden raisins behind.. black pepper, earth, and a touch of oxidation joined tangy oak and a nice bouquet of fruits on the long, belly-warming finish. Medium-bodied with low-moderate, slick carbonation on the palate.. tangy, spicy, and somehow well-balanced.. great brew that held up well over time.
Cloudy orange, nice head, fades to film. Aroma dominated by raisn, sickly sweet almost. Faint yeasty character. Flavor much the same, with some faint spice, not much else. Very one dimensional. SaintMatty (7476) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - FEB 1, 2010

Aromas of fruitiness, some oak, yeastiness/bready, citrus, and a light funkiness. Tastes of wood, fruity, lighter breadiness, vanilla, and some spiciness. Lighter funkines was in the finish as well. Pours with moderate carbonation. Sunset orange in color. Aroma is malty, with grassy hops. A sourness lurks.
Taste is fresh and aggressive. The slight sourness is balanced by the malt and the yeast. Tastes like it could have been oak aged for a short time. Mouthfeel is good, and viscous for the style. I’d have another if I wasn’t so tired.

A great unique beer, 2 years old that had funkiness and a good sourness. Malt and yeast in the nose. Medium cloudy, pale appearance. Lacey. Initially sweet yeast that gives way to controlled sourness.
A rare one. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - OCT 11, 2007

Bottle: big creamy and yeasty aroma with moderate raisin. It pours a hazy bright orange with a moderate creamy off-white head that lasts a minute or so. The flavor starts very yeasty with some raisin. It finishes with faint floral hops, chocolate, faint sour fruit, light oxidation, and faint acidity. It’s medium bodied with a creamy texture and light carbonation.
