On tap at Brewpub. Pours brown color, lightly beige head. Aroma of malt, bit smoked. Taste is bitter, smoked, ham, hoppy. Bit overcarbonated for me. Gurthnar (6171) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - OCT 31, 2014
Tap at Starosloviensky. Aroma smoke, ham. Clear copper colour, stable head. Taste has rich malty base, bready, caramel. Smoke is evident, moderate intensity, not too strong. Ideal entry level smoked beer, easily drinkable. Light heavy body, but not too heavy. After a few sips even hops begins to appear in moderate intensity. Overall nicely balanced, very good. Bottle. This really hits it. An excellent combination of smoked aromas and flavours with buttery diacetyl. Yes, more or less this one smells like smoked meat and tastes just the same, but beery of course. It’s all about smoke and fat. Very tasty. What else could be used to describe it? Maybe ’primal’. No fancy hops, no depth, no complexity. It’s just a man’s beer. A real man’s beer.
