On tap at the source in the beating sun. Pours clear bright gold, white head. Aroma is grain, grass, straw, cracker malt. Flavor is light sweet citrus, cracker, grain, straw. Light bodied lager, light citrus notes.

Draught at Factoria Plaza Vieja, Havana (2 CUC): Not a bad beer overall & definitely one of the best Cuban brewed pale lagers I stumbled across while in the country but that’s not saying a whole lot in truth. The beer was sweeter than expected with the odd touch of vanilla at times but was lighter on the nose than I’d have liked. It was flavoursome & easy to drink, with enough going on to keep you interested but it’s still not likely to be one I’d go back to outside of Cuba really.

(On Tap) Hazy golden amber with huge white head. Aroma lightly malty and bread. Medium body with plenty of gentle carbonation. Taste is malt and bread, with notes of lemon and candy, and a hint of bitterness in finish. Pleasant easy drinking but unexceptional.

Tasted from the tap at Plaza Vieja (La Habana). It´s very difficult to find brewpubs in Cuba...this was not nice. Next one please!

Visited the venue 28/12/2014 and this was the first of the 3 beers tried. Served in a dimpled pint mug, about 2/3 of a pint. It was a slightly cloudy yellow/orange with a big slightly off white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, and fruity but with a rather unpleasent sourness mixed in too. Minimal carbonation, light/medium body, bitter/sour finish, wasn’t great and hoped for better with the darker beers...

Couple of pints on the square in Havana 11/6/2014. Hazed orange coloured pour with off white head, initially frothy white that fades to a scummy thin film. Aroma is sweet grains, wheat, vanilla and some fruity esters. Some fermenting grass of the on nose silage. flavour is composed of wheat grains, cereal, wet grass, cheesy hops. Some fermentation by products. Sweet worty grains in the finish. Palate is medium grainy palate with a sweet grainy finish. Interesting enough, some flaws.

From backlog. Was one of the tastiest things we had in Cuba. Generally the food other places was deep fried. But a nice memory

Dull cloudy beige with a thin white head. The aroma is slightly yeasty (sweat, dough) with a little bit of sour apple/pear to it. Flavour is similar. That rotten fruit is subtler but it comes up against a maltiness that is mainly caramelly/diacetylly (in the style of a Zhigulevskoe but not as offensive). All of this uncleanliness is admittedly not too offensive but there really aren’t any good qualities to focus one when drinking this.

They have three bees around the same percentage. They refer to them as Light, Dark and Pilzen. As with the others the beer tastes rough and unfinished. Yellow with a hint of orange.
