Run for cover. Monstrous quantities of Amarillo (Editor’s Note: previously Kent Goldings) hops transform this traditional India Pale into a beast of a beer. Drier than a lizard on a hot rock, it’s a earth shattering, thirst stomping colossus of flavor. This monster IPA is not for the timid.

Taster at the brewery. Medium amber, thin head, sheets of lacing. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Taste brings in the hops in a big way. Dank and bitter. Tastes like old times.

Tap at the brewery-pours bright deep orange with a small white head and lite lacing. hmmm, seems a bold odd-lots of herbal and tobbaco hop qualities here. flavors are leafy, almost british in style. big malt sweetness doesnt do much for me. dry herbal hop finish lingering with the malt sweetness. hmmm didnt care for this one.

Draft at the brewpub. A red-tinged amber hue with a sudsy head. The aroma is surprisingly sweet. This carries to the flavor ... The hops surface as an odd sweet aspect, neither citric nor acidic. There’s also a soapy, or maybe odd smoky, kick to it too, but only the immediately initial touch of the tongue. It goes quickly, but I had trouble getting past that initially off-putting impression. Got better the more I drank. (#4679, 7/7/2012)

Draft. Aroma of tropical fruit. Taste is fruit and white bread. Not too aggressive. Decent enough.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is a huge citrus and pine hop. The flavor is a very good IPA; smooth balanced flavors, citrus, bitter hops, caramel toasted malts. Very good.

Aroma – Lots of hops in the nose nice malt backing. Floral and fruit aromas.
Appearance – Amber in color, Clear, with a thin head.
Flavor – Big floral flavor with the roasty malt. The hops gave off the floral and light fruit flavors. Big grapefruit flavors.
Palate – Dry finish with a Nice Mouthfeel.
Overall – Very tasty Big IPA.

on tap-pours an off white head and amber color. Aroma is pine/resin, secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is pine/resin, secondary medium malt-caramel. OK/soft carbonation.

Tasted on tap at the brewpub 10/25/2008. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruit and floral. Kind of mild bitterness for a “PNW” style IPA, a touch too sweet with not enough hops to balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is very slightly bitter, most of that at the very end.

The name lied to me. Sure it is a hoppier IPA than most, but nothing comparatively. Reminds me of a more full bodied TG.
