Soft orange with a tan head. Orange sugar aroma, way too sweet, but still nice. Very sticky and sweet finish. Some light hay in the
aroma along with the hops. douglas88 (9178) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 31, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is a huge citrus and pine hop. The flavor is a very good IPA; smooth balanced flavors, citrus, bitter hops, caramel toasted malts. Very good. BuckeyeBoy (7663) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 19, 2007

Copper with a medium sized white head. Aroma of tropical fruit and mild caramel. Taste is citrus, piney and bready. A nice IPA.
Draft at the brewpub. A red-tinged amber hue with a sudsy head. The aroma is surprisingly sweet. This carries to the flavor ... The hops surface as an odd sweet aspect, neither citric nor acidic. There’s also a soapy, or maybe odd smoky, kick to it too, but only the immediately initial touch of the tongue. It goes quickly, but I had trouble getting past that initially off-putting impression. Got better the more I drank. (#4679, 7/7/2012) BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JAN 22, 2003
UPDATED: MAY 17, 2006 ReRate: Had this first about 3½ years ago, haven’t rerated it since then. It pours a cloudy orange/brown color with a large white sticky retentive head and plenty of lacing. The nose is hoppy, naturally, not as strong as I once believed with a piney, citrusy character, not too much grapefruit though. The flavor has a strong bitterness accompanied by a robust malty body and moderate sweetness. Before it was the flavor I really looked for and now I more prefer an upfront nose. Still an excellent IPA, especially for Boise. The finish is balanced, moderate length and a spicy peppery mouthfeel. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Tasted on tap at the brewpub 10/25/2008. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruit and floral. Kind of mild bitterness for a “PNW” style IPA, a touch too sweet with not enough hops to balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is very slightly bitter, most of that at the very end.
