Port barrel aged and on cask. Had at the mountain brewers festival. This was a highlight for me. Notes of plum, raisin, port, vanilla, dark stone fruits. A solid sour beer. Reminds me of Squatters Root Cellar or a Flanders red ale. Had many samples of this one. Loved it! Sledutah (7791) - Utah, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Had at MBBF in Idaho Falls Travlr (25821) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Hazy brown with a tan head. Taste is biscuity, tart and vinegar. Toasted malts and vinegar. A nice palate cleanser and good beer.
Draft. Murky brown color, brown head. Aroma of sour brown bread, dark fruit. Aroma has both sweet and sour notes, reminds me of a Flemish red. Weird. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 4, 2010
on tap-pours a light tan head and copper color. Aroma is soft sweet medium malt, hint of citrus. Taste is soft sweet medium malt-secondary citrus rind hops. Solid medium body. BuckeyeBoy (8281) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 27, 2007

On Tap @ Burger n’ Brew: Rich brown color with reddish tones and a thick head. Aroma is mostly malt with some spices evident. Taste is a smooth maltiness with cloves and a bit of hops to finish. A nice, rich winter ale. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - MAR 14, 2006
Very good, and very basic for the style, some sweet fruity maltiness, really easy to drink, hoppiness comes through in the end. Not bad, but not my favorite. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 8, 2005
Growler from the Boise Co-Op. Pours a nice dark brown. Aroma of malt, fruit, hops. Tastes malty, with some hops and fruit. 3fourths (9357) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 22, 2003
Medium murky brown. Spicey malt syrup aroma and flavor. Kind of a plastic
caramel and amaretto/scotch flavor. Very thick. Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 6, 2003
Fuity nose, very cheery. Very dark pour with nice head and very nice lace. Yeah, flavors are that of most winters. Pretty cloying palate. Pretty enjoyable winter brew.
