Sample at the brewpub. Hazy straw color with a thin white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of wheat, spice and banana. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy wheat, banana and spice. The finish is wheaty with a banana and malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUN 12, 2016
Sample at the source on 6/11/16. Pours clearish amber with a thin white head. Color is darker than a hefeweizen; not quite a dunkelweizen, but more of an ur-weisse. Malty flavor with banana, caramel, clove and bubblegum. Sweet malt and caramel flavor quickly turning to banana and clove and staying there. Good representation of the ur-weisse style, but not a style I enjoy.

[From notes] Pint on tap at Taft’s. Awesome big bright fruitiness up front - big banana, vanilla, even a touch of strawberry. Some nice mild creme. Hazy golden color. Ring of white head, no lace really sticks, just a few bits. Medium-plus body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Mild dry finish. Moderater to bigger sweet taste, light graininess. Solid, tasty hefe. Just a touch a touch of green onion.

phaleslu (10673) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 18, 2015
Draft at Taft’s, Nellie’s downstairs, served in a pint glass. Pours a hazy gold color with a small white head that forms a ring and some wispy film. Notes of banana, wheat, lemon, clove, apricot, straw, and cereal. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mildly sweet, estery mouthfeel that finishes dry. A little phenolic. Nice hefe.

Draft at Taft’s. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet your standard mix of Hefe character, light cloves, banana, pale wheat malts, although there is nothing bad, but this doesn’t pop like most of there beers.

Tmoney99 (14985) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Draft sample at TAH. Poured a hazy yellow color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate clove, banana and wheat aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium hefe sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer.
