Ideally like the subtle sour beers and this fits that milieu perfectly. Light sour in the aroma and the body with little lasting affect. Excellent. Just wish these guys were more reasonable with their bottle prices, so I sample when I find it on tap somewhere. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 20, 2017

500ml bottle @ home. Pours a mostly clear golden colour with a small white head. Nose presents an interesting funk, sour, and oak notes. Flavour is sour and oaky with a mild funk overtone. The sourness is well balanced with the sweetness and it even tends towards a fruity citrus character. I’ve really enjoyed these bottles from Tahoe Mountain and look forward to seeing what more they continue to produce.
375 ml bottle. Very pale gold beer. Surprisingly clear, maybe just a touch of haze. Fizzy white head. This is an interesting attempt at a funky, oaky sour. It’s quite musky, big cheesy funk. Moderate vinous flavor. Balanced sourness. Unfortunately, it has too much cider character. The beer is just too delicate to hide that flavor. It lacks the earthy depth that you find in lambics, and the mix of cider and funk flavors just doesn’t work quite right without that. Lots of oak in the taste. And again, sort of a thin flavor, even though I like some of what’s in there. Moderate acidity, not much puckeriness at all. Very light on the palate. Dry finish with plenty of oak. I’d be interested to try future iterations of this solera. This batch just doesn’t have the depth but would have been nice as part of a blend.
