COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An ale created from a blend of sherry barrel aged and barrel fermented batches. Using both Saison and brettanomyces yeasts adds a peppery and tart character to the malty backbone and delicate hop aroma.

Bottle thanks to AJ. Pours a cloudy copper with small off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is yeast, funk, spice, floral. Thin body, brett, funk, oak, fruity, light finish, very good.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear orange, medium creamy beige head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is funky, brett, oak, earthy. Flavor is light sweet, light plus funk, earthy, brett, hints of vinous notes, basement. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Good.

Cloudy light amber color. I don’t know how this qualifies as BdG, but it has a nice funky aroma, dry mouthfeel, soft, nice funky character, and almost a juicy touch.
Very nice.

500ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a hazed amber colour with a tiny head. Nose is a great example of what Brett can do(loving the sour and funky character). Flavour
is quite tart with a combination of sweet malts, with a nice barrel character finish. Not really getting much of sherry, it’s ok overall but needs a little more.

Oakes (19027) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 27, 2016
Hazy and amber. Not much head. The nose explodes with brettanomyces, with a hint of black pepper. The brett is strong here, with a lot of sweet, sticky malt, then it finishes quite tart, with a barrel and pretty accent. A bit of a mess, but still not bad.

Bottle - Soured plum and some red fruit. Cloudy golden copper with a decent white head. Light grains and some light tart funk. Nose is nice and aggressive but body is lacklustre.

500mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out farmhouse yeast, some brett funk, red fruits, and a little pepper. Flavour is along the same lines with farmhouse funk, dry woody oak, some subdued dry red fruits, and a touch of pepper. Bone dry, with a woody, oaky finish. Not overly well-integrated, but it works.

Bottle, pours amber color with small to medium head. Aroma and flavor are wood, pepper, sherry, sour fruit, and grapes. Lots of barrel complexity and tart fruit in the biere de garde. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Orange-amber beer with a cream head. Tart and wine barrel aroma with yeast. Tart/light sour flavor with wine barrel, yeast, and brett. Medium bodied. Tartness and light sourness lingers with wine barrel, yeast, brett, and earth.

Big influence from the barrel on this one, as sherry notes are all over the nose and flavor. Woody, moderately tart and fruity. Enjoyable. Drinks bigger than the abv suggests it would.
