Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a slight dark tan heaed. Aroma is sour dark malt - brett notes. Med + body. Flavor is sour dark malt, some not too dark fruit, and a firm bretty sourishness. Lots of wood; astringent oak. Maybe some red berry residuals; not really finding whiskey. It’s earthy, yummy stuff. hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 28, 2015
Bottle. Had this with the regular Imperial Stout and this one is by far better. Poured a black color with an off white head. Dark fruits, funky, cherries, wood, and a nice tart funky finish. slowrunner77 (11912) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 22, 2015
Liked this better than the sour barrel aged dark ages, which was good but a little too strong w too much going on. This is more straight forward. A farmhouse stout with nice roasted and dry farmhouse qualities. marcus (10142) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 2, 2015
Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours dark brown with a large tan head and a sour plum aroma. There is a rich dark molasses flavor with a lot of Brett and oak and a tart finish. Very tasty.
