Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a slight dark tan heaed. Aroma is sour dark malt - brett notes. Med + body. Flavor is sour dark malt, some not too dark fruit, and a firm bretty sourishness. Lots of wood; astringent oak. Maybe some red berry residuals; not really finding whiskey. Its earthy, yummy stuff.

Liked this better than the sour barrel aged dark ages, which was good but a little too strong w too much going on. This is more straight forward. A farmhouse stout with nice roasted and dry farmhouse qualities.
