COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a hoppy, Northwestern-style brown ale that highlights the best of both worlds. Dark malts give it a rich, robust mouthfeel and a toasty, caramel-like aroma, with a generous dose of Northwestern hops providing a tasty balance of resiny and citrus hop flavors. A beer for hikes, trails or wherever you may roam.

Can. Deep brown with garnet edges when held to light. It is topped by a dense light khaki head. Malty nose that is punctuated by citrus and dried flowers. The taste is orange notes along with black tea. The finish is a little woody with some citrus rinds. The body is light and playful for the abv. Soft carbonation make this one easy to drink. Nicely done.

A dark brown color with a beige head. The flavor contains some toffee, nutmeg, caramel and a hint of chocolate. The flavor is slightly bitter with some caramel and a bit of spicy hop notes. Some toffee also present. Overall mostly a brown ale but some citrus background. It oddly works ok.

Definitely getting a hop aroma, mainly floral in nature. Attractive body in color of deep reddish brown with a small but long lasting and soapy head. Kind of a hybrid hoppy brown ale. Both hops and malts come to the table to play. I’m kind of digging this as a novelty. Not something I’d drink a lot of but fun and interesting.

Taste: mix of citrus hops meet chocolate malts and tasted molasses with a dry finish. Semi sweet roasted caramel malts and floral hop nose. Mahogany brown, clear, tall foamy head with broken lattice ring of lace. Medium balanced body.

16 oz can. Aroma mildly hoppy, a little sweet. Dark brown color, clear, beige head that fades, good lacing. Flavor is like a brown ale, but hoppy, slightly sweet, pretty tasty. Med body. Overall, not too bad!

Dark brown pour, one finger, creamy beige head, great retention, nice lacing. Aroma is chocolate, toffee, roasted nuts, a little lactose, and some light sort of berry and citrus sweet fruity notes. Flavor is roast, chocolate, burnt sugar, light woody char and some piney hops. Medium body, creamy to sorta syrupy entry, light, slightly sharp carbonation, off dry finish. Pretty good, the aroma wrote a malt check that the flavor couldn’t cash though.

Sent to me by Strykzone in a trade. Thanks Dave. Poured brown with a tan head. Nose of earthy roasted malts and some citrus. Medium body. Flavor is caramel malts with fruit and pine. Finishes lightly bitter. Good beer.

One of the better "hoppy browns" I’ve had. The earthy, resinous notes pair well with the caramel and roast.

Surprisingly bitter brown. Has a nice caramel, toffee, and lightly roasted nut character. Lingering bitterness.

Rated on 12-26-2016. Bottle. Drink by 03/18/17. The appearance is a medium sized bubbly, semi-fizzy tan head with a short retention, transparent deep amber body, lively carbonation noted, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, pine hops, perfume, lightly bitter, nutty, and caramel malt. The flavor is lightly bitter, citrus hops, dark fruit, caramel malt, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is light-moderate carbonation and this beer is light bodied. This beer is very drinkable and easy to drink and rate. It has a light bitter aftertaste to it that is not offensive or unbearable. This beer is worth trying and it is a beer that I would not turn down drinking again.
