Deep mahogany with a large tan head that fades slowly and reminds me of malted milk. Aroma of sweet malt, lactose, roasted malt and mild chocolate. Thin bodied tastes of roasted malt, light cocoa and lactose. arkurzynski (2427) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 29, 2012

Can. Pours opaque brown-black with a large creamy brown head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet roasted malts, molasses, coffee and chocolate. Finish is very lightly bitter. Semi-rich on the palate. Best beer I have had from a can in a while. jmohno (1619) - Iowa, USA - AUG 21, 2012

Taste mirrors aroama with good body at first with a chocolate mild roast light espresso, the finish is light almost thinand lets you know its 5% but the roast sticks through with a mild bittering.Theres some mild hop flavor towards the end also. A very good tasting stout. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 17, 2012
In a can. Pours a near black dark brown with thin tan head. Nose is roasted barley. Taste is sweet chocolate, roasted barley, with a very thin mouthfeel. Well carbonated. Dangeruss (35) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - AUG 16, 2012
First had it on tap at Doolittles in Eagan. Ask the bartender what that was he described it as a Guiness but not as hoppy. Had a great pour and the aroma was toasty and dark cola color. I was suprise how smooth it was and not too hoppy. Real refreshing. So good I bought the kit at Northern Brewer and brewed it. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 10, 2012
Can at home. Pour is deep opaque brown with a small tan head, with decent lacing. Aroma is leather, tar, bread, light roast, and oatmeal. Taste is much the same, but a lot sweeter. Flavors of tar, dark fruits, light char, bready, and somewhat watered-down. Light body with soft carbonation. Meh.
