We often hear from fans who swore they’d never enjoy a stout — until they tried Buffalo Sweat. Some have described its rich taste, creamy mouthfeel and sweet, lingering finish as liquid chocolate chip cookies made with espresso. If you only try one dark beer in your life, Buffalo Sweat will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste.

Pours a nice dark brown with a brown head. Very rich aroma, leans towards molasses, chocolate, prunes and lactose. Flavor is so smooth, sweet with lactose, milk chocolate, light raisiny notes. Such an easy drinking beer but bold at the same time.

Can at Dutch’s. Pours really dark, looks brown to black. Aroma is smooth and malty sweet with hints at chocolate, caramel, wafers, though without being too much. Palate is creamy. Flavor is quite similar though with a dash of roasty notes for some balance. I enjoyed this one for all 16 ounces. This is an excellent take on a sweet stout.

Pours thin and lite. Stout? Milk Stout? Buffalo Sweat Stout... I think that is it. Tastes of oversteapped tea that has been put into a milk style stout. Thin and roasty but not smokey... more burnt. Not a repeat offender.

This is very good beer! Served at a good temperature with a nice tan foamy head that soon settled and some lace. Color is actually a clear obviously very dark ruby red (thanks to my trusty iPhone flashlight), but opaque seeming black brown. Arina us roast, malt, treacle, caramel, toffee, cocoa, coffee. Flavor’s like nose, sweet comes out and is perfectly balanced by the bitter malt, hop, and carbonic tang. Body is very good and carbonation a touch soft. Finish is like flavor and tapers nicely with medium length.

Poured into a snifter. Dark, dark and darker color. BLACK. Thick two fingers of head that refused to budge. Lots of burnt and roasted malt and coca. Bready, roasted malt and a little less burnt malt. A very mild bitterness. Super creamy and smooth. Really amazing texture. Lighter body than expected with moderate carbonation. Hits the spot for a milk stout. Easy to drink and really good.

pint can to glass; rec’d from emeinz in trade; Thx Eric! nice aroma - tobacco? and roasted things. nice dark pour -then the negative start; way too watery for a stout - not much carbonation or flavor - goes down easy but no reason to...

high_on_hops (809) - Burlingame, California, USA - APR 24, 2012
A deep brown color with a foamy tan head and lacing. The aroma is sweet malt and coffee, and the flavor has sweet malt up front with the coffee and bolder malt taking over in the middle. It has a light-medium body and a smooth aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Received in trade from Josh. Pours a super dark ruby with a 1 finger head. It dissipated very quickly. Aroma is malty, chocolate. It is very sweet. Taste follows. It's very smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. Really big sweetness that has the right amount of roastyness. Overall, a very nice sweet stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma- malts, grain, roasted qualities, faint chocolate, metallics Appearance- dark brown, minimal head, flat looking Taste- typical average stout qualities, cream, sugar, lactose Palate- medium-body, lower carbonation Overall- Not real good. Just an average stout in all respects.

16 oz tallboy can from BlueDog Lansdale. Poured a dark black body with an average sized foamy beige head. Aroma of cola soaked brown bread, light coffee and dark cheap chocolate followed by a slight touch of cardboard. Medium body with average to strong carbonation but a quick fading aftertaste knocks the palate rating down a touch. Flavor is solid with lots of roastiness, charcoal, slight chocolate, light coffee, milk and a hint of dark berries. This is a solid beer I would happily drink again.
