COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We often hear from fans who swore theyíd never enjoy a stout ó until they tried Buffalo Sweat. Some have described its rich taste, creamy mouthfeel and sweet, lingering finish as liquid chocolate chip cookies made with espresso. If you only try one dark beer in your life, Buffalo Sweat will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste.

It poured a dark brown color with a small lingering tan head. The aroma was of roasted malt, coffee, bakers cocoa and light vanilla. The flavor was of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, light vanilla and a hint of coffee with a smooth dry lingering roasty finish.

1 pint tall-can. Pitch black appearance. Somewhat tan head. Little lacing. Like ovaltine chocolate milk, not in a good way. Good texture, though. Manages to be drinkable. Mild sweet taste. Iím not sure, but something about this is awesome in a hilarious way. Maybe itís because itís a stout in a tall-boy can... I just havenít seen that before, nor ever thought I would. Excuse me. Still, one of the worser stouts Iíve had, though (though I havenít sampled many yet)

On tap at Helenís JAD in KC, MO. Dark brown pour with a deep tan head. Aroma is sitting right in the middle of roasty chocolate and lactose sugary sweetness. Flavor and body are floating somewhere between a milk stout and Moose Drool brown, with light roasted malts, slight sweetness, and very little in the way of hop presence.

Poured a nice dark brown color and had a nice smokey bacon type flavor that was pretty good.

Dark dark brown with ruby highlights. Bubbly light brown head, giving out a stingy malty aroma of cocoa, dark toast, cereal grain, and general roastiness. Medium body and taste leads me to believe this is more porter than stout. But itís not a terrible detractor, as this is one heckuva porter. Big taste of brown malt, light chocolate, and tasty toasted malts. Itís got that milky sweetness from the sugar used, and itís nice and creamy and chocolatey and tasty.

can from Zippís, pours dark brown to black with a medium tan head. Aroma is slightly ashy, burnt sugars, heavy roast. Flavor is mildly sweet cream and cocoa up front ending very dry and roasty, again some ash and charcoal. Very nice beer.

Theyíve got the color right for sure with a black pour and some deep brown on the edges. Lots of roasted and smokey oatmeal in the nose. Surprisingly creamy with some delightful chocolate and strong coffee flavors. The coffee really lingers. Mouthfeel is a bit light for as dark as this is, but itís really tasty and goes down rather easily. Overall, I think itís great. Smooth, not too big, bold and well balanced flavors. Iím a fan!

Pours black with dark brown highlights. Aroma of oats, chocolate, toffee. Sweet flavor with toffee, oats, and hints of chocolate. Smooth and creamy. Good beer.

This is one big flop in my book. Iíve enjoyed most of the Tallgrass beers, but this is pretty undrinkable. Just very hard to put down. Some roasty malts typical of the style, but harsh otherwise. Some rotten egg and cheap artificial flavor that I canít put my hands on. Tried it as a vanilla ice cream float which made it slightly more drinkable, but still not good. Glad I only purchased 2 of these as it was in a sampler pack. Unfortunately the cans were 16 ounces though.

Listen, I understand why beer snobs donít show more love for this beer as it is not all that amazing but finer craft beers usually are not "ballgame" beers that is you canít toss back a six pack during a game because they are just too rich. This is a ballgame beer that tastes great. I can drink several and not feel like I just ate a pound of chocolate.
