COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We often hear from fans who swore theyd never enjoy a stout until they tried Buffalo Sweat. Some have described its rich taste, creamy mouthfeel and sweet, lingering finish as liquid chocolate chip cookies made with espresso. If you only try one dark beer in your life, Buffalo Sweat will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2015 To me, Buffalo Sweat doesnt sound like a very flattering name for a beer. It sure doesnt exactly SOUND irresistible, but dont judge a can by its unusual title. This brew is silky smooth and has a generous tan head. The taste is almost unreal: chocolaty, creamy, and rich with some touches of coffee (all the roastiness and little of the bitterness). I would and will have this stout again.

Deep in color with just some red edges. Medium mouthfeel reminds me of an Irish but with some more body. Light finish I would not characterize as sweet but still tasty.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a thin but creamy cap of beige foam.

Aroma: Coffee, cocoa, cinnamon and chocolate cereal.

Taste: Dry roast, slightly burnt malt, and dark chocolate.

Mouthfeel: Fizzy and dry.

Overall: Really good, well done, fresh and tasty.

Roasted aroma, with a hint of milk chocolate. Pours an opaque black with a full tan head. Slightly sweet flavor, nicely balanced by roasted notes. Lighter in body then one would expect upon looking at it, with a full mouthfeel. Very nice and approachable stout.

Can. Pours opaque black with a high, light brown, creamy, sticky, fine-grained head. Nose is earthy, chocolatey, spicy, and has overtones of vanilla and treacle. Lighter than a lot of oatmeal stouts, but not in a negative way; really smooth and clean, while still carrying the darker flavor profile this style needs. Smooth as oiled glass. Delicious.

16oz can. Pours dark brown with a small off white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is roasted malts and grains with some sweet chocolate and some ash.

The flavor is sweet grainy roasted malts with a little lactic chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little watery.

Overall, not a great stout.

Tap - Looks good, pours black with brown edges, resilient tope head. Coarse lace. Aroma is coffee, roasted nuts, cocoa. Nice carbonation on the tongue. Roasted earthiness. Nice breathy finish of coffee and cocoa. Great but not elite.

Can. Dark brown with a small yet creamy head. Aroma was chocolate mocha and toast. Taste was mocha, dark roasted grains and a slightly sweet upfront flavor and a burnt toast bitter finish.

Pint can. Roasted barley aroma with notes of chocolate and sweet, sugary lactose. Pours dark brown with a decent light brown head with good retention and OK lacing. Starts very smooth with sweet lactose sugar and a bit of chocolate with a rich, creamy mouthfeel. Finishes very smooth with a good roast kick at the end. This is a really nice stout.

Jake65 hooked me up with a couple of these in a good trade.. Pours a standard dark black with a fairly long lasting light brown head.. spotty lacing and a decent cap. Nose shows a light roasty element that combines well with the milk sugars.. some chocolate notes show with warmth.. nothing mindblowing, but seems about right across the board for a sweet stout. Roasty malt and a light coffee element is moved forward and is well integrated by the lactose.. again the chocolate note is more as it warms up. Body is very smooth... almost like an oatmeal stout.. light carbonation accentuates the silky nature. Pretty tasty... I typically dont seek out milk stouts too often, but this is well done and I am happy I have another can! Thanks Jake for the great trade!!
