On tap at the Flying Saucer pours black with light tan head. Aroma is roast malt and sweetness. Lighter mouthfeel for the style. Flavors are pretty much on par with the nose and is pretty one dimensional. An average beer.

20 oz on tap. Black color, good adhesion. Decent head fades to slight collar. Smells a bit more like coffee than oatmeal. Disappointing overall. Taste is light and not full-bodied, contrasts with the appearance & aroma. Its like they sort of gave up on it and threw hops at it. Nowhere near as good as Tallgrass other beers (Oasis in particular). Pass.

Nice little oatmeal stout here. I say little b/c it's only 5%. ABV needs to be higher. Probably around 6ish. Nevertheless, it's a super easy drinker w/ a good creamy palate and just the right amount of roastiness.

Ericular (995) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 22, 2013
Pours a dark brown with small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, dusty. Taste is sweet roasted malts and a dry bitter finish. Palate is a little thin for the flavor. Overall its not bad, but nothing Id crave.

Scipio (987) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Pours almost black with a smooth, medium, off white head. The aroma contains roasted malts, chocolate, and a little bit of coffee. The taste does lean towards the sweetness. Heavier chocolate, lighter in vanilla and coffee, white still quite roasted. Aftertaste is more bitter and is chocolate and mild coffee. Light in body, creamy in texture, with carbonation being very soft. There isnt any real negative with this one, although Id consider this a rather generic offering.
